Mwalimu Martin Owinyo Ong’wen

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mwalimu Martin Owinyo Ong’wen of Tamu village, Upper – Tamu Sub-location, Muhoroni, Kisumu County that occurred on 19th September 2022 at Muhoroni Sub-County Hospital.

Husband to Rose Auma Ong’wen.

Son to Owinyo Orinda and Paulina Orayo. Brother to the late Jason Gari, William Atiang and the late Killion Odeyo.

Father to: Gordon Owinyo,Walter Ochieng, Dickson Otieno, Millicent Jalango, Judith Oburu, the late Benter Adhiambo, Joseph Onyango, George Metho and James Odhiambo.

Father-in-law to Senator Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga, Gordon Jalango, Margaret Owinyo, Dr. Sophie Opiyo, the late Dorothy Otieno, Celestine Metho, Jackline Onyango & Jerida Odhiambo.

The the late Martin Owinyo has left behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Prayers and meetings are being held daily from 2.00pm at his home in Tamu Village.

The cortege will leave St.Vincent Catholic Hospital, Muhoroni on Friday, 30th September 2022 at 11.00am for a church service at AIC Tamu and overnight vigil at his home. The funeral service will be on 1st October 2022 at Tamu Central Primary School grounds starting at 10.00am. Thereafter he will be laid to rest at his Tamu home.
