Simon Duncan Ndegwa Mukabi

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Simon Duncan Ndegwa Mukabi on 26th October 2018.

Son of the late Duncan Mukabi Mahinda and the late Violet Njoki Mukabi. Husband of Joyce Wanjira and father of Allan Mukabi, Oliver Kiiru, Kevin lkua, Mercy Njoki and Michael Methu.

Brother of Anne Wanjiku Giathi, late Martha Njeri Kareso, Margret Muthoni Ndegwa and Elizabeth Nyambura Tharau. Step brother of George Kangethe, Prof. Wanjiku Kabira, George Njoroge Karandi, Mary Wanjiku among others.

Family and friends are meeting at his home Tulaga near engineer town for prayers and funeral preparations.

The funeral procession will depart from North Kinangop Catholic funeral home on Thursday 1st November 2018 at 9.15 am and thereafter there will be a funeral service at his home in Tulaga. The body will be laid to rest at the same venue shortly after.

God gave us Simon Ndegwa and he has taken him back. May the name of the Lord be praised AMEN

Samuel Mwangi Gathioro (Baba Brian)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Samuel Mwangi Gathioro (Baba Brian) formerly of Kenya Power, Mombasa which occurred on Friday 19th October 2018 through a tragic road accident at Kizingo, along Mombasa Malindi highway.

Son of the Late Mathew Gathioro and Risper Munjiru of Kahatia„ Murarandia. Muranga County. Beloved husband of Lucy Mugure Mwangi (Mombasa). Father of Brian Macharia (Pioneer Sch. Maragua), Risper Munjiru (Hillside Sch. Utawala) and Victor Kamanja (St. Irene’s Sch. Mikindani, Mombasa). Brother of Njoroge, Wanjiku, Ndegwa, Murugi, Wanjiru and Njoki. Son-in-law of the Late Moses Kamanja and Wamoni Kamanja of Gaitega Village, Murang’a County. Brother-in-law of Silvio Kamanja, Lawrence Kamanja, Robert Kamanja, the late Esther Kamanja, Zipporah Kamanja, Sheri Kamanja and Alice Kamanja. Uncle of many.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday, 2nd November 2018 at 7400am; followed by Requiem Mass at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Kahatia at 10.00am. Thereafter he will be laid to rest at his family home, Kahatia (car wash), Murarandia location, Muranga County.

Husband of Peninnah Wanjiru Kang’ethe. Son of the late Samson Ng’ang’a Karanja (Nderu) and the late Naomi Wangari Step Son of the late Hannah Njoki Ng’ang’a. Son in law of the late Elias Thuo and the late Ruth Wanjiku of Kihoya Murang’a county. Loving father of Naomi Wangari, Ruth Wanjiku and Salome Njeri, Grandfather of Samuel Kang’ethe, Cindy Wanjiru, Venessa Karimi and Jeyden Kang’ethe. Brother of Joseph Wanyoike, Timothy Kamere, Salome Njeri Njoroge, Albert Mbugua, Peninnah Wanjiru and William Gatoto. Step brother of Mary Njeri Noah, Benendita Wanjiru, Veronica Mukami, David Wanyoike, Elizabeth Gitere, Edah Ngendo, Arthur Njoroge and George Kang’ethe (Kirenga), Daniel Gatoto and Samuel Gatoto among others.

Prayers and funeral arrangement meetings are being held at their Ndithiati home, Ngewa Githunguri Sub-county Kiambu county everyday from 5pm.

The cortege departs K.U Mortuary on Friday 2nd November at 9.00 a.m for funeral service and burial at their Ndithiati home at 11.00am.

Peter Musyoka Mairu

It is with acceptance of God’s will, that the family of the late Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu wish to announce the passing on of our father on Sunday 28th October 2018 after an illness.

The late mzee Mairu was husband of the late Mama Sarah Malia, Mama Agnes Muli and Mama Regina Kasyoka; He was father of the late Lillian Koli Mutui, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Charles Muthui, Elizabeth Wausi, Benard Maingi, Fidelia Kanini, Nicholas Chalo, Johnstone Vundi, Late Alex Vaati, Christopher Kalamba, Kevin Meja, Martin Matei, Muema Musyoka, Syungo Musyoka, late James Nzilu, Joseph Nzyoki, Festus Muthami, Grace Syombua, Oska Kivanga and Faith Kanoti. He was father-in-law of:- John Mutui Kieti, Pauline Kalonzo, Kalekye Muthui, Mercy Muema, Alice Munuve, Muthakye Maingi, Nkirote Nzilu, Carol Kyalo, Nzangi Nzyoki, Mercy Muthami, Ann Vundi, Catherine Kivanga and Milan Meja. He leaves behind 39 grand children, among them, Christine Mutui, Kennedy Kalonzo, Agnes Muthui and Maureen Muema, and several great grand children.

Friends are meeting at Bomas of Kenya daily at 5.30p.m.

Burial date will be announced later.

Peter Kariuki Kugwa

 1935 – 2018

It is with deep sorrow and loving acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of retired elder Mwalimu Peter Kariuki Kugwa of Nginda village on 27th October, 2018 at Kikuyu Hospital.

Husband of Nancy Wangui Kariuki. Father of Rosemary Waithira Wanjohi (Karatina), the late John Karanja (Gathera), Godfrey Chege (Nakuru), Joshua Mwangi (Nginda), Martin Maina (Nginda), Andonisha Muthoni (Gatundu), Patrick Nyaga (Ngong), Harrison Kamau (KPLC Murang’a). Father-in-law of Samuel Wanjohi (Karatina), Naomi Waitherero (Gathera), Beth Wanjiru (Nginda), Felista Wanjiku (Ngurwe-ini), Jerioth Wambui (Nakuru), the late Joyce Mumbi, Prisca Kendi (Nginda), Ann Ruth Muthoni (Kenyatta National Hospital), Susan Karimi (Meru). He is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends are meeting at his Nginda home, Maragua Sub-county.

The cortege will leave KU Funeral Home on Friday 2/11/2018 at 7.30am for a church service at P.C.E.A Nginda at 10.00am and thereafter burial at his Nginda Home.

Mother-in-law of Kennedy Litoro, Sarah Wanjru, Kenneth Maina, Charles Muthee, Josephine Wanjiku (KIMC) and the late David Ngungu. Sister of Samson Muguro, the late Mary Kagwanyu, Hellen Kariuki, Jacob Kimani and the late Faith Wanjiku.

Obadiah K. Lang’at

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden death of our beloved Obadiah K. Lang’at on Sunday, 28 October 2018 in Nairobi. Until his death, Obadiah was a Lecturer at the IT Department, JKUAT School of Computing and IT.

Obadiah was the first-born son of Mr. Jonah Keter and Mrs Anne Keter of Kaplutiet, Kabianga, Kericho County. Beloved husband to Lilian Chepng’etich Langat and doting father to Keith Kipruto and Kaytlin Cheptoo. Brother to Amos Laneat, Zipporah Keter (Kenya Pipeline Company) and Milka Keter-Gitau (Sidian Bank). Son-in-law to Rhoda Ngeno and Jeremiah Tanui. Brother in law to Brian Gitau, Naomi Keter and Carolyne Chelangat. Uncle to Abigail Chelangat. Cherished nephew, cousin, in-law and friend to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at Sports View Estate, 9th Avenue, Kasarani; and at home in Kaplutiet for prayers and funeral arrangements.

Burial will take place at his home village in Kabianga, Kericho County on Saturday 3rd November 2018.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mary Njeri Njenga of Riruta Satellite — Kabiria road.

Daughter of the late Edward Wambu Kiraka and Milcah Wambui Wambu. Wife of the late Karari, Sister of Kimani, Mungai, Karanja, Mugure, Mbaire, the late Waguchu, Wainaina and Wanjiru. Mother of Susan Wambui Njenga, Edward Wambu (Edjen Investments) Kawangware, Monica Wambui and the late Macarios Karari. Mother-in-law of Gladys Wambui Wambu.

Prayers and funeral arrangements meetings are ongoing daily at her home Riruta satellite-kabiria.

Appreciation to her medical team, Dr. Wafula, David her Therapist, Nurse Mary waceke.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Martin Orora Ochako through a tragic road accident along Narok Mai Mahiu road on 26th October 2018.

Husband of Esther Nyambura, father of Mark Ochako. Son of Joseph Ochako and the late Norah Bisieri Son-in-law of Francis Njenga and Naomi Waithera. Brother of the late Fred, the late Charlie, Joyce, Tom, Peter, Pam and Wycliff. Brother-in-law of Nyakerario, Agnes, Gladys, Hon. S. Ogari, Sylvia Peter and Rose. Uncle of Kevin, Soki, Grace, Maureen, Prince, Gechuki, Austin and Sanwa, Cousin of Robin, Ken, Jared, Donald, Mellen and Josphat, Isaac among others.

Margaret Wangui Kamau

Daughter of the late Musa Njoroge Mukuha and the late Beth Njambi Njoroge of Kirenga, Lari. Wife of the late Dr. George Kamau Gikang’a. Mother of Irene and the late Apollo Njonjo, Joan and the late Edwin Kibocha, Karen and the late Githae Gichau, Lucy and Chris Lowther, Grace Wangari, the late George and Esther Gikang’a and Fredrick and Anne Njoroge. Sister of the late Nahashon Ngugi, Grace Wanjiru, Ruth Mwihaki, the late Gladys Wambui, Rhoda Julia Njeri, Violet Wanjiku and Susan Wangari. Grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 14.

The cortege will leave Mukoe Funeral Home on Friday 2nd November 2018 at 9:00 AM for the funeral service at PCEA Githiga Church at 10:00 AM and burial at her Githiga home thereafter.
