It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Yvonne Magdalene Oronga.

Daughter of Mr. Vincent Oronga Abonyo and mama Jane Anyango Oronga both of Agoro East Sub Location, North Nyakach location, Nyakach sub County within Kisumu County. The last born in a family of six children namely Jerry Ochieng, Justus Abonyo, Judy Achieng, Valarie Akinyi and Jack Oronga. Sister-in-law to Jackline Awuonda, Maureen Anyango and Norah Rop. Aunty to Marlon, Babra, Michelle, Obash, Miranda, Stephanie, Reynold, Treazer, Levin, Joy, Frank and Briella.

There shall be a fundraising to offset funeral expenses at The Professional Centre on 30/4/2019 at 5pm.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral home at 8:30am on 3rd May 2019 to her home in Nyakach Agoro in Kisumu County.

Burial shall thereafter follow on 4th May 2019 at home.

Stephen Mwaura Kung’u

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Stephen Mwaura Kung’u of Naivas Ltd after a brave long fight with cancer.

Steve passed on 26th April 2019 on the day of his return from medical treatment in India.

Son of Peter Kung’u Kimani and Jane Nyambura Kung’u of Kachibord, Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County. Son-in-law of Alois Ngari and Tarascilla Njoki Ngari of Kianjau, Kirinyaga County. Husband of Elizabeth Gicugu Ngari. Brother of John Kimani and Ann, Margaret and Fred, Ann and Ng’ang’a, Sarah and Mbote, Duncan and Fridah, Daniel and Njoki, Njoroge and Nancy, Cecilia and Watuwa and the late Joseph Mwangi. Brother-in-law of Jane and Anastasius, Helen, Nancy and James, Hillary and Magdalene, Charles and Violet, Agnes and Stephen and Boniface and Susan. Nephew, cousin and uncle of many.

The body is lying at Kenyatta University Mortuary. The cortege leaves the mortuary on Friday 3rd May at 10pm for burial the following day Saturday 4th May 2019 at Mitoni mbili village, Kachibora Trans-Nzoia county.

Upon diagnosis you quoted —”I do not know how my story will end but nowhere in my text will it ever read …I gave up” You never did. God did His will.

Stephen Mwanzia Mbondo

We are saddened to announce the death of Stephen Mwanzia Mbondo who succumbed to stroke on 21st April 2019.

Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Mbondo. Husband of Annah Kavini Mwanzia. Brother of the late Patrick Kawinzi, Patricia Katumbi, the late Bernard Kithoka, Bonface Mutua, Bibian Mumina and Susan Mbondo. Father of Adella Mumbua (USA), Gentrude Wanzila (Tremgen Enterprises). Yusuf Mukala, Winnie (Progressive Credit Bank), Kate (Congo), Thomas Kivaya (Tata) and Margie (Thika). Father in law to Moses Kagema, Elizabeth Tom, Catherine Kanini. Brother in law to Sammy Musyoka, Sila Kivaya, late Muteti Kivaya, late Emma, Peter Munyao, Michael Kivaya, Nthoki Kivaya. Grandfather of Prudence, Trevor, Lyn, Kimani, Pharez, Keegan, Kyla, Tecla, Kare, Brina, Mahli and Marsha. Great grandpa to Randy.

Prof. Henry Okelo Ayot

11/12/1945 – 24/4/2019

We regret to announce the passing on of Professor Henry Okelo Ayot on Wednesday 4th April, 2019 at the Nairobi Hospital.

Prof. Ayot was a renowned Professor of Social Studies in the Department of Educational Communication and Technology, a former Dean, Faculty of Education and the initiator of the establishment of the School of Continuing Education where he became its first Director. The School of Continuing Education culminated into the present self-sponsored programmes (SSP) and the Institutional Based programme (IBP). Prof. Ayot was also instrumental in the establishment of the Bachelor of Education (Primary Option). Prof. Ayot is the immediate former Director of the Institute of Teacher Professional Development.

He is a son of the late Reuben Ayot Olela and the late Mama Elena Ogalo Ayot of Waware Kaswanga Awendo, Migori County. Step son to the late Mama Agnes Agutu, Mama Sabina and Mama Owato. He is a loving husband to Prof. Theodora Olunga Ayot (USA) and Mrs Gladys Agoi Ayot (Kenyatta University). Son-in-law to the late Mzee Cleopas Orwa and Mama Priscilla Orwa of Rusinga Kamasengre and the late Mzee Moses Kaduyu Agoi and Mama Jane Kanaga of Vihiga County.
