RacingSportGym regrets to announce the passing of one of our own. Zablon Osiemo was involved in an accident on Sunday January 26, 2020 and sadly departed and taken from all of us far too soon.

He was a loving husband, a dear brother and a committed friend. He will be deeply missed by the lookbetternaked fraternity and by all those who knew him. As he looks down, he will be assured, when we push hard and stay strong, his memory will not be forgotten by any of us. You made us a better version of ourselves and thank you for the gift of your friendship and acquaintance.

Stella Ambiyo Ochola

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Stella Ambiyo Ochola.

She was the wife of the late Jacob Ochola of Ulumbi village, Gem. She was the co-wife of Rachel Agutu and Lucia Msar. She was the daughter of Musa Oyola of Kisumu Karateng’ and Leah Oyola. Sister-in-law to the late Zebedee, Nerry, the late Zadock, the late Paul, Enoch, Lucia and the late Jennifer. She was the sister to the late Anna, Janet, Mical, the late Victoria, Mary, the late Saul, the late Ouya and Peter.

She was the mother of Eng. Edwin Otieno, Maurice Ochola and Bella Ochola-Wilson. She was the mother-in-law to Rossely Otieno and Caren Ochola. She was the step mother of Eric Jayala, the late Christopher Odhiambo, Jane Ochieng, the late Aggrey Obare, the late Eunita Atieno, the late Patrick Ochola, Ambrose Ochola, the late Beatrice Nyawade and the late Roseylyn Owour. She was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends will meet at All Saint’s Cathedral on Tuesday Feb 4th, 2020 at 5 pm.

Her body leaves Lee funeral home on Friday Feb 7th, 2020 morning and burial is scheduled for Feb 8th, 2020 at Ulumbi, Yala Gem. Burial service will commence at 9.30am.

Stanley Mugwimi Mathenge

 1930 – 2020

We announce the death of Stanley Mugwimi Mathenge (formerly of chest clinic); that occurred on 26.01.2020 after a short illness.

Loving husband to Peris Gathigia. Brother to Late. Ngotho Mathenge (Koigi) and late Zephanie Wandeto. Father to Jennifer Wanjira, Wilfred Mathenge, Martin Mwai, Robert Ngotho, Anthony Muriuki, Eunice Wambui, George Wandeto, Duncan Wanjohi and Mercy Wanjiru.

Father-in-law to Eunice Mathenge, Jane Mwai, Penina Ngotho, Jess Muriuki, Lillian Wandeto, Lydia Wanjohi and Francis Kilonzo. Adoring grandfather, great grandfather and uncle to many.

The cortege will leave Jamii Nursing Home Karatina on Tuesday 4th February 2020 at 9.00am followed by a funeral service at P.C.E.A Kanjuri church. Thereafter, the burial will be held at his Kanjuri home.

Samuel Njege Nyaga

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of our beloved Samuel Njege Nyaga.

Son of the late Bernard Nyaga Njege and Rhoda Watuyu. Brother of the late Isabella Wanjiru, late Gibson Chege, Rachel Waihiga, Harrison Kiige, Mary Nyanjau, Alexander Gatheru and late Esther Wambui. Husband of Mary Njeri Nyaga. Son-in-law of the late John Kiguru and late Elizabeth Wambui of ltabua Embu. Brother in law of Dr Joe Muhindi, the late David Kariuki, late Josephine Wanjiku and Philip Muhindi among others. Uncle and grandfather of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his Mikindani Mombasa residence and their Murang’a Family Home at Kariaini village, Kamacharia.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary, on Monday 3rd Feb 2020 at 4.00pm for burial at his Kariaini Home on Tuesday 4th Feb 2020 , at 10.30 am.

Rachel Njoki Karanja

25 December 1943 – 29 January 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we the Karanja family announce the death of our dear Mother Rachel Njoki Karanja on January 29, 2020.

Daughter of the late David Gachago and late Rebecca Njeri. Wife of the late William Karanja, loving mother of Doris Njeri, Joyce Muthoni, David & Rose Mambo, Lorna Nyokabi and the late Dickson Murimi. Also sister of the late Ruth Nyokabi, late Tabitha Wanjiru, late Jesse Mwangi, late Peninah Wambui, Timothy Mugetha, late Danson Gichia, late Moses Mburu and Esther Wakari. Devoted grandmother of Kris Kabiru, Andre Murimi, and Kenia Wanjiru. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and in-laws.

Family and friends are meeting at PCEA Langata on Friday 31st January from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 4:00pm to 6:30pm.

There shall be a memorial service on Sunday at 3:00pm at the same venue.

Burial service shall be on Tuesday 4th February at the same venue at 10:00am followed thereafter by interment at Langata Cemetery.

The family of the late Prof. John Ongayo Kokwaro wishes to thank God for the gift of life he allowed us to share with our beloved husband and father and His grace to us during the time of grief. Son of the late Josephat Muyanga and the late Veronicah Muyanga. Brother of the late Patrick, Agnes, late Nicholas, Paul( KIHBT-Nairobi), John Makau (Kiganjo), the late Tresiah, Andrew (Deputy principal Katangi secondary school). Brother-in-law of Josephine (Kitui Level S Hospital), Keller (DCIO Kieni East), Elizabeth (Katangi secondary school) and Miriam (Nairobi). Son in law of Phyllis Mutua and Joseph Kilonzo. Loving uncle of Janet Mwikali, Flora, Nicholas, Agnes, Bibian, Victor, Alex, Cynthia among others. Adored daughter of the late Samuel Wanjohi Muranga and Hollidah Muthoni Wanjohi of Kirinyaga County. Beloved wife of the late Dr Phillip Paul Tonui. Mother of Hollidah Cherotich Tonui [Finland], Zoniah Chelangat Tonui [Advocate], Doreen Chepkemoi Tonui [Advocate] and Amos Cheruiyot Kosgei [Nairobi]. Grandmother of Jason Gituro Wanjohi.

Daughter in-law of the late John Kiptanui Ngeny and Juliana Ngeny of Kaplong, Bomet County. Sister of peter, the late Wilson, Beth, Festus, John, Paul and Dorine. Sister in-law of Joyce, Mary, Betty, Rose, Joseph, Alice, Reginna, Alfred and Eunice.

The Funeral service will be held at the Namgoi High school Grounds on 1st February 2020 from 10.00 am. Thereafter, her body will be laid to rest at her home, Singorwa Village, Kapsabet, Nandi County.

Appreciation

On the 17th of January 2020, the Lord called one of His own to be by His side. We the family of Mathias Mbabu wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all our relatives, friends, neighbors, service providers and well wishers who stood with us following the demise of mum. Your prayers, visits, messages of condolences, support and thoughtfulness were and will remain a great source of comfort to us. While her loss is difficult to bear, we draw strength from the knowledge that she touched many lives with her benevolence and kindness.
