Special thanks to the Father-in-Charge of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ridgeways and all the Priests who offered mass during that period; all the members of our CWAs — St Joseph Mwaki and Donholm St Jude Mwaki, our current & former neighbours and friends. We would particularly like to thank Father Patrick Kariuki, who stood with us throughout this period and even after. Our sincerest gratitude to the Father-in-Charge of Kiangai Parish, Karatina, who assisted in Mr Mathenge’s send off and burial. Our sincerest gratitude goes out to our immediate and extended family members.

Special thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses who have been assisting and treating Mr Mathenge during the period of his illness – Dr Mathenge, Dr Mwongera, Dr Muhindi and all the staff of the Renal Unit at Nairobi Hospital. We would also like to thank the staff at the Renal Unit at Premier Hospital, Nyali who looked after Mr Mathenge in his last days. We thank Lee Funeral Home for their compassion and care. We cannot forget the staff of Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa, who really worked hard to assist the family when he suddenly got sick while staying there. We also remember, in a special way, our neighbours at our Rural home who worked around the clock to make his send off a success.

We cannot be able to thank each person individually but we sincerely thank everyone who supported us in any way. God Bless You All.

1st Anniversary

On this fateful day, you went to a place where no one ever comes back from. Our hearts have never accepted that you are not with us anymore. You were a source of inspiration and strength to us in many ways. You will never be forgotten. We hold you close to our hearts and there you will remain to walk and guide us through our lives. In life we loved you dearly and we still love you as you held a special place in our hearts that no one will ever fill. In this one year, there is no single day that we have never missed your pieces of advice, humour and ever smiling face. Though with a heavy heart, we learnt to accept God’s will on our lives and more so that He loved you more than all of us.

Dearly missed by your loving wife Euginia, Children Libby, Aaron and Adam, brother William, the entire family and all your relatives, friends and colleagues.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace. Amen.
