Absa Life Assurance Kenya Limited, led by the Chairman, Mr Ahmed Ndope, would like to express sincere gratitude for the show of support and numerous condolence messages following the untimely demise of the Managing Director, William Mbugua Maara. We are grateful to the Almighty God for granting us the privilege of having interacted with the late William and blessing him with a beautiful, impactful life. We are immensely grateful to Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Hon. Issa Timamy, the Board of Directors, Shareholders, Management and Staff of Absa Life Assurance Kenya Limited. The CEO, Mr Jeremy Awori and the senior leadership of Absa Bank Kenya Plc, Absa ARO team, ADI group and the greater Absa Group fraternity for their invaluable time, resources and input.

We express our gratitude to the Insurance Regulatory Authority, the Association of Kenya Insurers, the Association of Insurance Brokers Kenya, our business partners and the Insurance industry as a whole. We were humbled by your sharing in our grief. On behalf of Mrs. Mary Wanjiku Mbugua, the children, Peaches Nduta, George Mbugua and the extended Maara family, we express our deepest appreciation to family and friends for the numerous messages of condolence, personal visits, prayers, financial and material support. A special thanks to the Chairman, Mr Sam Waweru, staff and members of Parklands Sports Club. The Chairman, Dr. C. N Wangari and members of Limuru Golf Club. The church leaders from PCEA Ngecha and PCEA Bahati Parish members led by Rev. P. K. Mwaura and Rev. Hiram Githalga for the memorable church service and interment. We extend our gratitude to the funeral committee under the able leadership of the Chairman, Mr Simon Mithamo. To Maina Kageni and all the service providers for ensuring the late William received a dignified send off.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the late William’s close friends from Milesmind Limited, Roadrunners Welfare Association and the local administration in Ngecha for the enormous support they accorded the family during this difficult period.

To all others that we cannot mention individually please accept this acknowledgement as our token of appreciation. May God bless you abundantly. This would not have been possible without you all. We know the late William is smiling down on us from heaven, appreciating the love and great show of support you have all accorded him and us. Your presence brought us comfort and strength. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of Virginia Marigu Njerenga which occurred on Friday 26/6/202 in Nairobi after a brave battle with Cancer.

Daughter of the late Michael Ithiga and Pauline Ithiga. Loving wife of Patrick Njeru Njerenga formerly Vice chairman Nairobi Securities Exchange. Loving Mother of Peter Ndwiga Njerenga, Michael Ithiga Njerenga and Ann Karen Wanjuki Njerenga. Mother-in-law of Windrose Karimi of Nairobi, Alice Kirimi of Embu. Grandmother of Snarne Ngendo, Fabian Munene and Walny Kariuki. Sister of Njeru Ithiga, Teresina Ithiga, Cecilia Ithiga, Agnes Ithiga John Ithiga, Mathais Inthigaano Susan Ithiga. Sister-in-law of the late Agatha Kathuri, the late Henry Njerenga, the late Stanley Ireri Njeru, the late Fredrick Nyaga, Mary Ngurumbu, Justin Njerenga, the late Joseph Njerenga, Valiano Njerenga, Mrs. Jane Mwangi, Margaret Njerenga and Paul Njerenga.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home of Friday 3rd July 2020 at 7.30 am, followed by Burial at Garweomi Village, Kathera Home, Kyeni Location, Embu County.

Son of the late Festo Kalimu and the late Martha Festo of Kilungu, Kithangathini. Husband to Margaret Matee. Father of Martha, Ruth, Munanie, Nzambi and Ndunge. Brother of the late Musau Festo, the late Peter Festo, the late Joseph Festo, the late John Festo, the late Mbithe Festo, the late Mwikali Festo and Maua Festo. Cousin of David Mulandi, Joseph Mulandi, Mumbua Mwitiki and the late Kalipso Mwitiki among others. Grandfather of Rick Nelson and Lawrence Mbaga among others.

The burial will take place at his home in Ithookwe Village, Tungutu Sub Location, Kyangwithya West, Kitui County on Saturday 4th July 2020.

Thika Town), Dr. Geoffrey Heme Ndung’u (USA), Pastor Wilfred Ngugi (Uplands), Charles Chege (Kirigithu Sec Sch), Naomi Ndung’u (Kangundo Hospital), John Maina Ndung’u (ACME Containers), Jane Faith St. James – Juja Farm) and the late Nelson Kimani. Brother of Jane Kamuyu (Murengeti), Nicholas Kimari (Africana Butchery Eidoret), Sofia (Gilgil), the late Joseph Ngugi and the late Charles Nguri. Stepbrother of Ngugi, Waithuki, Wairimu and Mukuhi. In-law of Bishop Dr. Moses Mbugua (Redeemed Gospel Church — Thika) and Mr. & Mrs. Dominic Njenga. Grandfather and great-grandfather of many.

The cortege leaves A.I.C. Kijabe Mortuary on Thursday 2nd July 2020 at 8.00am followed by funeral and burial service at his home Kimende the same day.

Mark, an employee of UAP/Old Mutual, was born on 11th March 1989 to Joseph Mbithi Matheka and Margaret Kamene Matheka. Cherished grandson of the late Matheka Kiluu & the late Phoebe Mueke of Mbooni and Jonathan Muoki &Alice Wanza Muoki of Wamunyu. Loving brother of Micky Mutie Matheka & Anne Mutheu Mutie, Joyce Mumbua Mbithi and Eric Matheka Mbithi & Jane Kanyi Matheka. A proud uncle of Michelle Mueni, Warvie Katanu, Erastus Keli and Mbinya. Mark was a beloved nephew, cousin, colleague and friend to many.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 3rd July 2020 at 7am. The funeral service and interment will be held at the family home in Kimutwa, Kwa Kavoo. Please be informed that the ceremony will be conducted strictly in accordance with MOH Covid-I9 guidelines.
