Vincent Onyango Hagono, consultant engineer, dies in USA

Vincent Onyango Hagono, 66, of Millersville, PA was called home on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Kenya, he was the son of the late Leonida (Obat) and Joseph Hagono Ong’are and son-in-law to the late Grace Okumu. He was the beloved husband to Pamela Adhiambo Hagono for over 30 years. This a testament to the life and times of a dedicated husband, adoring father, a selfless son, the encompassing brother, uncle and friend who lived as an epitome of humility and service to his larger family and to his country. His level of honesty and integrity was his virtue and nobility and earned him respect among his professional peers.
He was the loving father to Regina (Providence, RI), Nicholas (Columbia, PA) and Velma (Houston Texas); siblings: Philomena Anyango, Frank Hagono (Seattle, USA), Tony Hagono (South Sudan) as well as several nieces and nephews (in Kenya). He was preceded in death by his siblings: Wilfred Nundu Hagono, Maurice Ochieng’, Elizabeth Akinyi, Rosa Athieno, Frederick Oluoch Wand ago.

He was a world traveler who enjoyed life, museums, and was a culinary enthusiast. Most of all he cherished his family. He prioritized peace as a pillar in his life, building bridges was his nature and saw the good in all humanity. He will be missed by all who knew him. Prior to retirement, Vincent was an Electrical Engineer for Kenya Railways Corporation, African Development Bank and run his consulting firm – Engineering Associates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

Interment will be private at Conestoga Memorial Park

Mr Nguyo Ngibuini

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr Nguyo Ngibuini on Tuesday, 29 December 2020, following a long battle with cancer.

Son of the late Hon Davidson Ngibuini Kuguru, EGH CBS former Cabinet Minister and Margaret Wairimu Ngibuini. Married to late Annie Njeri, Berth Muthoni, Regina Miriko and Caroline Wangu.

Father of David Ngibuini and Ruth Chepngetich, Margaret Wairimu and Michael Kariuki, James Gathui and Grace Wambui, Margaret Wairimu and David Munene, Margaret Dianna Wairimu and Nicholas Mwangi Maina, Gibson Ngibuini, Everiyn Waruguru, Stella Wairimu and Joan Mumbi.

Brother of Priscilla Mumbi Wangal, late Nyokabi Ngibuini, Peter Kuguru, Catherine Wanjiru Muriithi, Dr Frederick Gikandi and Rose Wamuyu Gitau and all the Ngibuini Kuguru children.

Grandfather of Stephen Kipruto, Daniella Njeri Chepchumba and Nathan Gathui Kipkorir Nguyo, Annie Njeri and Jayne Wairirnu Gathul, Kenzie Njeri Munene, and Adia Wanjiru Mwangi.

Friends and relatives will meet at his residence for prayers starting at 3:00pm on Wednesday,Thursday and Saturday.

The memorial service will be held at his residence starting at 3:00pm on Sunday, 3 January 2021,
The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home Thika Road at 7:00am on Monday 4 January 2021 and proceed to the family farm in Kiamaina, Karatina, Mathira West, where he will be laid to rest.

The funeral service will start at 12:00pm.  Due to COVID regulations, the funeral will be a private function.

Appreciation

We the family of the late Mrs. Magdaline Wambui Kimani (Sunbird/Pleasant View Schools), would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for the expression of love, kindness, thoughtful gestures, prayers, phone calls, condolence messages, financial support and messages of encouragement that were bestowed upon us during our bereavement.

We appreciate the support received in organising and facilitating a befitting send off for our beloved mum.

We are immensely grateful to all doctors, nurses, home care givers (Her daughters and Rachael) and helpers that attended to mum during her sickness.

Loving Wife of Joseph Hinga. Mother of Francis Mwangi, Joyce Wanjiru, Dr. Anne Njoki, Jeremiah Maina, Margaret Njeri, John Njenga, Peter Kamau and James Wainaina.

Mother-in-law of Margaret Mwangi, John Kimani, Walter Serem, John Mwangi, Caroline Muthoni and Betty Kaggia.An aunt and grandmother to many.

Family and Friends are meeting daily at her Yamumbi home in Eldoret, The cortege will leave Moi Referral Hospital Mortuary, on Monday 28th December, 2020 at 8.00am. The requiem mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Yamumbi at 1 1.00am.

Thereafter burial ceremony at her home Yamumbi farm.

Husband of the late Maya Mary Naliaka Mabongah (Omusaba) and Mayi Phostine Namalwa Mabongah (Omuemba).

Loving father of Fridah, Wafula, the late Bonface, Beatrice, Selina, Albert, Hon. Mwambu Mabongah (MP Bumula Constituency). Judith, Norah, Eunice, Eric, Martha, Mary, Pius, Joseph, Rodgers, Nancy, Ignatius, Ambrose, Elisha and Joshua.

The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital Mortuary, on 24th December, for a night over at LifeCare Hospital mortuary from where it will be taken to Mwiyenga home on 25th December, 2020.

Burial will take place on 26th December, 2020 at Mwiyenga Village Bumula Sub County, Bungoma County.

We, the family of the late Mama Aileen Karai Charles thank the almighty God for granting us the privilege and opportunity of sharing our lives with Aileen as a mum, grandmother, auntie, great grandmother and friend.

Loving husband of Lucy Wairimu Kiagiri. Father of Winnie Gachago (Germany), Mwangi Kiagiri, Michael Wainaina (Germany), Christine Njoki and Isabella Njeri.

Brother of the late Paul Kamau, Charles Gacina, Agnes Njeri and Mary Wanjiku. Brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend to many. Grandfather of Njeri, Jakwe and Mugetha.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his home in Komarock Estate sector 3A, House No. 718. The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home on Tuesday, 29th Dec,, at 7.00am followed by a Requiem Mass at Divine Word Parish Kayole at 9.00am.

Burial will be at Lang’ata Cemetery, Nairobi, on the same day.
