It is with grieving hearts and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the promotion to glory of sister-in-Christ Mrs. Susan Kagendo Mbaya Thiongo on Monday 23rd August, 2021 at KNH – Nairobi, after a short illness. Formerly of Kenyatta National Hospital, Orthopaedics department.

Beloved wife to Bishop John Paul Thiongo of City of Refuge Church – Thika. Doting mother to Hope Muthoni and Victor Mwangi. Daughter to Mr & Mrs Washington Mbaya Muthamia (Secretary General Programs Njuri Ncheke Supreme Council of Ameru Elders). Sister to Tony Mbaya, Mike Mbaya & Leon Toshie Maya. Niece to Elizabeth Mwiti, the late Samson, Jacob, the late Dr. Mugambi, Sammy, Dr. Solomon, Isaac, the late Charles and Joyce Muthamia. Cousin and Aunt to many.

Daughter in law to Mr. Jeremiah & Mary Gikore of Teachers area – Nakuru. Sister-in-law to Peter Njoroge, James Kihumba, Thomas Waiganjo & Stephen Njuguna.

The funeral service will be held on Friday 3rd September, 2021, at the family farm Olutoroto lsinya Kajiado county at 11:00am. The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Mbagathi Road at 9:00am and thereafter proceed to Olutoroto, lsinya, Kajiado County, for funeral service and burial.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we the Franciscan sisters of St. Ann announce the death of Sr. Paskalia Scholastica Oreke Akello, which occurred on Friday 27th August 2021 at Avenue Hospital Kisumu.

Daughter of the late Mzee Remjius Akello and Pauline Adem. Sister of Consolata Okiri, the late Joseph Chars, the late Domtila Odiemo and the late John Chiango. Sister-in-law of Florence Akuku and the late Jane Ooro.

Aunt of Benter Adhiambo, the late Pamela, the late Lilian, the late George Omondi, the late George Otieno, the late Fredrick, the late Syprose, Scholastica, Jackeline, Seline, Sr. Maryjane, FSSA, David, Irene, Janet, Augustine, Victor, Linus, Brian, and Pauline. An in-law of Eunice Anyango, Seline Achieng, and Mildred Auma.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Kisumu on Wednesday 1st September 2021 at 6:00am. Funeral services and burial will take place the same day at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Lwak. The Holy Mass will begin at 10.00 am presided over by the Archbishop the Archdiocese of Kisumu, most Rev. Philip Anyolo.

Wife of the late John Gitau Gatonye. Daughter of the late Kamanu Kahira and the late Muthoni Kamanu. Sister of the late Josephine Wanjiku Wangai, the late Peter Kahira, and James Karanja.

Mother of Mary Wanjiku, the late SLIan Muthoni, George Ndungu, Teresiah Wahu, the late Penina Njeri, The late Evans Ngigi, Fredrick Mwathi, Alice Nyokabi, Lucy Wacera, Grace Mukami, Peter Kahira and Hannah Waruguru.

Mother-in-law of Loise Wangui, Sunday Mwathi, Jack Kimani, Ian Younger, Christian Eneremandu, Esther Mbaire and Senator Paul Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu County). An Aunt, Cousin, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and a friend to many.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 2nd September, 2021, at 9.00am for a church service at PCEA – Joshua Matenjwa Memorial Church – Limuru, at 11.00am and burial will be at her home in Maganjo, Muguga thereafter.

A memorial service will be held at Nairobi Central SDA Church – Maxwell on 2nd September, 2021 at 2:00 PM.

Son to the late John Kamau and the late Rahab Mwihaki. Husband of Enidy Muthoni Kariuki. Loving Father of Renick Kamau, Benard Kinyua, James Gicheha, Rahab Kariuki, Regina Mwende and Festus Mutegi. Father in Law to Susan Muthoni, Phyllis Nyambura, Judy Wairimu, Godfrey Wafula and Grace Muringe. Grandfather to Collins, Lynette, Brian, Elvis, Elssy, Elvin, Stacy, Stella, Meryl, Cheryl, Mitchelle, Finley, Fiona and Frank. Brother to the late Grace Wangui, the late Hannah Muthoni, Jane Wairimu, James Gicheha and Peter Njuguna.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at his home in Mairo lnya from 3pm and Hippo Point Resort Nyahururu from 6pm.

The cortege leaves St. Benedicts Nyahururu Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 2nd September 2021 at 8:30am for funeral service and burial at his home in Mungletho Village, Mairo lnya Nyahururu.

Prof. Richard S. Musangi, PhD, EBS “Kala Kalaa…”

The patriarch of the Musangi family graduated to be with the Lord on the 27th of August 2021. Prof. Musangi was the first Chancellor of University of Kabianga and first Vice Chancellor of Egerton University. Prof. Musangi was a renowned educationist, a scholar in agriculture and the sciences as well as an accomplished administrator. He served as Chairman of the Kenya National Examinations Council, Maseno University College Council, the Water Resource Management Authority, the Kenya Forest Service and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) of the World Bank among many other institutions both local and international.

Prof. Musangi was the loving husband to Mrs. Regina Musangi. Father to the late Patrick, Andrew & Maryann, Catherine, Joseph, Henry & Christopher. He was the doting grandfather to Mara, Gina and Arena.

Prof. Musangi was the son of the late Meshack Kokonya & the late Mama Rasoa Navucha Kokonya, and the late Rhoda Kokonya. Brother to Zacharia Wanyonyi, the late Kevin Kuloba, Wafula Kokonya, Beatrice Musundi, Mukolongolo Kokonya, Baraza Kokonya, Kisiangani Kokonya & Chesoli Kokonya. He was an Uncle, a mentor and an inspiration to many.

He was an in-law to the family of the late Mzee Henry Kato of Gganda, Uganda, the late Dr. Chris Kirubi and Mama Janet Kimotho among very many others.

The Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Millmani Nakuru on Thursday 2nd September at 10.00am.

The burial will take place on Saturday 4th September at the Villa Maria Farm, Endebess-Kitale.
