We regret to announce the sudden death of Solomon Kimathi Kaburu (Kyadon) of the National Treasury and Planning. He hails from Gankere sub-Location, Ngiine Location, Kiathadi Division in Meru County which occurred on 23/6/2022 at Ruai Family Specialist.

Son of the late Daniel Kaburu and Lydia Karwirwa of Gankere.

Son-in-law of the late Silas Mukaria and the late Margaret Wanja of Gakurine Meru County.

He was husband to Christine Karimi Mukaria. Father to McClain Mutethia, the late Claire Makena, Kriegler Muguna and Cleverly Muthomi Toppers Academy-Malaa.

He was brother to Clifford Kimaita M’Rinyiru among others. Brother-in-law to Catherine, Caroline, Teresa, Frankline, David, Clifford, Parvin among others.

He was uncle and cousin to many.

The Cortege leaves Kenyatta University Morgue on Friday 1/7/2022 at 8:00am to Malaa Kangundo road, Machakos County for funeral and burial.

As the memory of our loved one overwhelms our thoughts, sadness grows like ripples in a pond. But your words of sympathy bring us hope. We, NHIF Board of Management and entire Staff together with Samuel Obuya family, wish to express our sincere gratitude for the support you gave following Roselyne Kemunto Obuya (Rozzy)’s illness and demise. The Cortege leaves Gakwegori Funeral Home in Embu at 9:00 am on 1st July, 2022 for burial service at her father’s farm in Kathangari village in Embu County.

It is with deep sorrow, humble acceptance of God’s will that we accept to announce the sudden demise of retired Chief inspector of Police Eliud M’ Ikunyua M’ Ngaruthi of Kiirua Miima Chui Farm which occurred on 26th June 2022 at St.Theresa’s Mission Hospital — Kiirua.

Loving husband to Sarah Karuntimi Eliud. Son of Late Paul M’ Ngaruthi and Late Martha Nkogwe M’ Ngaruthi. Father to: Mwenda, Susan, (Aga Khan Hospital — Mombasa) Late Karea, Late Kimathi, Late Zipporah, Kathure, Mbaabu, and Mutuma.

Brother to Late Zipporah, Late Nkoroi, Late Julia, Late Mukangu, Late Murugu, Late Kiriamiti, Mugambi, Murui, Kirimi Isabella, Monica, Late Dauti and Late Nkunja. He had 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, uncle, cousin, in-law, friend colleague, and mentor to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily from 4.00pm at the family home for prayers and funerals arrangements.

The cortege will leave St. Theresa’s Mission Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 1st July 2022 at 9.00am for requiem mass at St. John’s Methodist Church — Kiirua and thereafter funeral at the family home.

Rt. Rev. Abbot John Baptist Oese, OSB and the monks of the Prince of Peace Benedictine Abbey – Tigoni, Kenya regret to announce the unfortunate demise of their brother, Rev. Fr. Florian (Franz Joseph Michael Maria Ignatius) Prinz von Bayern OSB. He was born on September 21st 1957 in the village of Leutstetten close to Lake Starnberg in Bavaria.

He was the eldest son and the second child out of seven siblings: Marie-Theres K. Tamas, Elisabeth Kuefstein, Andreas, Wolfgang, Benedikta Rudolf, Christoph, and Gisela Alexander. He is a grandson of King Ludwig III of Bavaria.

He joined the Benedictine Archabbey of St. Ottilien as a novice, choosing the name Florian, and 1983 he took his first vows.

As early as 1984 he was sent to Kenya for his first mission posting. On 14th September, 1986 he took his final vows in St. Ottilien and 21st December the same year he was ordained to priesthood. He then returned to Kenya where he started to work as the youth chaplain in the slums of Nairobi. After various assignments in different missions in Kenya he became the parish priest of Arror Parish in Kerio Valley for a number of years until 1996. He was assigned various tasks at Tigoni.

It was his vision to serve as a real missionary far away from a major city as possible. That was how he landed at Illeret, in the very north of Kenya near the border with Ethiopia in 2003. St. Peter the Fisherman Illeret parish was officially opened on 29th of June, 2005 on the occasion of the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul and Fr. Florian was appointed as the first parish priest and served for about 16 years. He was also the Prior Administrator of Tigoni from 2005-2009.

He was receiving his treatment at St. Scholastica Uzima Hospital until his demise on 22nd June, 2022 at 19.00hours in the evening. Until his demise, he was the Sub-Prior of Tigoni Abbey since October, 2020.

The funeral mass will begin at 10.00am. He will be laid to rest on 1st July, 2022 at The Abbey Cemetery in Tigoni.

A Prince has been reunited with the eternal King whom he served here on Earth.

Rtd. Mwalimu Evans Abuga Osubo

We regret to announce the death of Rtd Mwalimu Evans Abuga Osubo formerly a CSO (Magombo Division) which occurred at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital on 17th June 2022. He hails from Nyanturago Village, Kegogi Sub-location, Bosamaro Masaba Location,West Mugirango Constituency, Nyamira County.

Son to the late Sylivanus Osubo Mochere and the late Robina Kerubo Matonto.

Husband to Tabitha Moraa Orwoba. Father to Benard (Nrb), Edward (St Francis Gekendo Sec.), Enock (Nrb), Martha (Sinonin Pri, kericho), Dominic (Msa), Job (Msa), Edna (Rubis) and Jefferson Abuga (Ass.
