Peter Mwinami Ingabi alias “Shichana”

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Peter Mwinami Ingabi alias “Shichana”.

Husband to the late Mama Sebenzia Libutsuli. Son of the late Raphael Ingabi and the late Teresa Wilima. Father to Merceline, Patrick, the late Henry,Vincent, Kizito (Principal, Shanjero Sec. School), Petronilla (Getrude’s Hospital), Fr. Bernard Ingabi (Shikoti Parish), Irene and Bonface.

Father-in-law to Peter (TUK), Florence (Principal, Ndaptabwa Sec. School), Jane, Modesta, Pascalia, Francis, Nashon, Rosebela.

Brother-in-law to Elizabeth, the late Japheth, Jonathan, Ndombi, Mitalo, the late Queen.

Grandfather to Junior, Andrew, Vivian, Cedric, Gregory, Millie, Simon, Sharon, Albert,Terry, Marlin,Alvin,Abigael, Peter, Sibenzia, Collins, Ngilu,Wilimila, Ingabi, Mwimani, among others.

Brother-in-law to Peter Lisili, the late Albert Imbova, Cyprian Luseka, M’mboyi, Matiasi, Shivikhwa, the late Sophia, among others.

Funeral arrangements are going on at his home.

The cortege leaves Mukumu Hospital Mortuary on Monday, 01/08/2022 at 9.00am for a requiem mass at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Murhanda. The burial ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 2/08/2022 starting at 07.30am at his home in Mundulu village, Shisembe Sub-Location, Murhanda, Kakamega East.

Lillian Thara Kamau (“Shosh”)

12th April 1950 — 27th July 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the demise of Lilian Thara Kamau which occurred on the 27th July 2022 at Coptic Hospital Nairobi.

She was daughter to the late Jason Njerera & the late Raeli Ciagwa. Sister to Luka Nyaga, Esther Kina Karunguru, Samuel Mutira, the late Lydia Wanja, Leah Ndia Niue, the late Epapharus Njeru,Christabel Giciku Wanyoike and Susan Wanja Ngochi.

Beloved wife to the late Francis Ngatia Kamau. Loving mother to Jeremiah Ngatia of NCBA Bank Plc, Helgah Wanjiru of Nakuru, Javan Njerera of l&M Bank & Kelson Mwangi of Egypro Africa. Grandmother to Leon Heman, Ethen Hill & Tiara Thara. She was a loving cousin, aunt and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at son’s residence in Kiambu County, Kirigiti at 7.00pm and at the family residence in Nakuru Milimani.

The cortege leaves Nakuru War Memorial Funeral Home on 5th August 2022 followed by a funeral service & burial at Nakuru North-South cemetery.

Irene Njeri Komo

On Thursday, July 21st, 2022, Irene Njeri Komo, loving sister and mother, passed away at age 80. Irene Njeri, the last of 15 children was born on April 30th, 1942, in Muranga, Kenya to Elizabeth Wairimu and James Njuki Munano.

She was trained as an Extension Services Worker who was selected to attend Iowa State University in Des Moines, Iowa to further her studies in 1963. While in Iowa, Irene attended a foreign students dance where she met her future husband Muruku Waiguchu. She returned to Kenya after completing the agricultural program in Iowa and returned in 1965. Irene and Muruku married later that year. Lisa, their beloved daughter was born the next year in 1966.

After relocating to Flushing Queens with her family in 1967, she went on to receive a Masters’ Degrees from Columbia University in New York. The first in Nutrition in 1973 and a Master’s in Public Health in 1977. She was a nutritionist and dietician who worked as a licensed practitioner on both the east and west Coasts.

In 1982, Irene met and married her second husband, Cyrus Komo. It was then she relocated to the Bay Area in California. In the early 1980’s she opened and ran Kenya Impex, a successful business that sold various African artifacts in California until 2006.

Irene was a devout Seventh Day Adventist and was passionately active in her church. In 2006, she along with survived sister Sarah Wambui, founded the Harambee Children’s Project (HCP). HCP started in 2006 as a non-profit organization founded to meet the needs of orphans because of the AIDS pandemic in Gituto, one of the Districts in Muranga, Kenya.

She loved music and nice cars. She was known for her quick wit, her humor and her sweet and compassionate spirit.

Irene is survived by her daughter Lisa, her brother Daniel Kagucia, sister Sarah Wambui Munano, step siblings Elizabeth Wambui, Peter Munano, Muiruri, Makumi, Njeri and several nieces, and nephews in the US, Europe and Kenya.

A private memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12th, 2022 at the Beltsville Seventh Day Adventist Church at 11.00am. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute donation on behalf of Irene to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).

David Karanja Wakaba (Kinyori)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. David Karanja Wakaba (Kinyori), which occurred on Saturday, 16th July, 2022.

Son of the late Joseph Wakaba Kungu and the late Penninah Njeri. Husband to the late Margaret Wambui Karanja. Brother to the late Daniel Mbugua and the late Esther Kimani.

Father to Paul Mburu (UK), Penninah Njeri (UK), Joseph Wakaba, Mary Njoki Chege (US) Daniel Mbugua (US), Nancy Waithira Sofowora (US) and Penninah Nyokabi (US). Father-in-law to Ludmila Mburu, Wangui Wakaba, Sam Chege, and Gbenga Sofowora.

A Sunday service on 31st July 2022 will take place at his Garden Estate Residence at 4.00pm.

The cortege leaves KU Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3rd August 2022. For funeral service at P.C.E.A Kambui Church at 11.00am and thereafter the burial will take place at his rural home Kibichohi, Komothai, Githunguri.

We regret to announce the sudden death of Irene Chepchichir Kibiego.

The fourth born daughter to Mr. Japheth Kibiego and Pauline Kibiego. She was sister to Violah Chelimo (KEPHIS HQS), Lucy Nyamwange (County Govt. of Trans-Nzoia, Executive ), Nancy Kogo (KNH) Jacqueline Koech (Trans-Nzoia County Govt.), Scola Kirior (Kenya Power), Sheila Keter (Rubi Logistics), Manu Kebenei (KASS Media), and Diana Rubinfeld (USA). Mom to Vanessa Chemutai.

Aunty to Joshua, Devon, Winnie, Natasha, Irene Chepchichir Maison, Ethan, Nelson,Amelia and Aiden.

Sister In-law to Samwel Nyamwange (USA) Isaac Kogo (Kenyatta National Hospital), Ben Koech (Business), Norbert Kirior (System Administrator), Ken Keter (Safaricom) and Eitan Rubinfeld (Rubi Logistics, USA).

She will be laid to rest on 30th July 2022 at her parents home, Velos Farm, Cherangany Trans-Nzoia county.

Salome Museo Muthwii

It’s with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Salome Museo Muthwii through the infamous Nithi bridge road traffic accident.

Salome was the wife to Darius Mukaria and a loving mother to Travis Koome Mukaria. Born in 1995, she was a daughter to Muthwii Mutisya and Eunice Muthwii. Sister to Mercy, Mwende and Blessing. Aunt to Grace and Joy and a cousin to many. Until her demise, Salome was a Grant accountant – World Vision Kenya.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home (Machakos) on Saturday, 30th July 2022 at 8:30am for the funeral service at their home in Makutano, Mwala Sub-County.

Absalom Airo Okwengu

It is deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that Maseno University announces the sudden passing on of Mr. Absalom Airo Okwengu on 18th July, 2022 at Maseno University Hospital. Until his demise, Mr. Airo served at the Estates Department.

He is a father to Elizabeth Semo and Bravin Laban Sakwa (Bungoma High School). Son to Ezekiel Okwengu and Mama Anne Okwengu of Ebussamba. Brother to Miriam,Abigael, Rosemary, Simon, Luciana and Rosebella. Brother-in-Law of George, Ferdinand, Vincent and Albert.

There will be a fundraising event towards funeral expenses on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022 at home Mwitindi Ebussamba Village from 2.00pm.

The cortege leaves Coptic Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 29th July, 2022 at 10.00am for a requiem mass at his home. The burial will take place on Saturday, 30th July, 2022 at his home in Mwitindi Ebussamba Village, Luanda South Division in Vihiga County.

Maria Nduku Kamau

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden Death of Maria Nduku Kamau which occurred on 25th July 2022 at Nairobi Hospital CCU, Nairobi.

Beloved Wife of the late Richard Silah Kamau. Loving mother of Arthur Kauai Kamau (Dalas Texas) and Jasmine Wangare Kamau of St Austins School Nairobi.

Daughter in law to Mr and Mrs Arthur Kauai Kamau of Kirigiti Kiambu. Daughter of the late Mr Ngitu Makiu and Alice Muvene. Sister in law to Hezron and Annabel Kanyari, George and Beatrice Mwaura, Rehema Wairimu Muriithi and Robert Migunda Kamau.

Prayers and meetings are being held daily at her Father in laws residence at Kirigiti Kiambu opposite Kiambu High School.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home (Mbagathi Road) Nairobi on Friday 5th August 2022 at 7.00 a.m. Funeral service will be held at Ridgeways Baptist Church starting from 10.30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Kirigiti, Kiambu.

The cortege leaves Our Lady of Lourdes Mwea Mission Hospital Funeral Home on Sunday, 31st July, 2022 at 3.00pm followed by vigil mass at 6.00pm, at Sisters of Mary Immaculate Mother House, Mathari-Nyeri.

Requiem Mass and burial will be on Monday, 1st August, 2022 at 10.00am.
