Dr. John Muthee Kaunga

It is with profound sadness that we announce the demise of Dr. John Muthee Kaunga, Senior Lecturer, Dept of Veterinary Services, University of Nairobi, Agriculture Campus, Kabete.

He was the son of the late Joseph Kaunga and Teresina Nkoyai of NchiruVillage, Meru.

Husband to Jane Wairimu Muthee of UoN. Father to Chris Muriuki Muthee, Terry Eunice Wangui Muthee and Gabriel Karithi Muthee.

Brother to the late Peter Kang’ote Kaunga, Karinguri Kaunga, Stephen Mwiti Kaunga, Mary Gituma Kaunga, Flora Linguli Kaunga, Sarah Mwonthea, Naomi Karimi Kaunga, Priscilla Ntongai Kaunga and Marcella Rotich Kaunga.

Brother-in-Law to Mike & Ann Makuro, Joyce Mwea, Nancy Mwea, Eliud & Jane Njoroge; Lucy Kang’ote, Agata Karinguri, Jane Mwiti, Linguli, Boniface, Kinyua, Rotich and Ntongai.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023 at his home Karebe/Nchiru village, Kunene Sub Location, Nkomo Ward, Tigania West, Meru County. The cortege leaves Chiromo University Mortuary on Tuesday, 1st August 2023 at 10,00am for an overnight rest at Kirua Mission Hospital. The cortege will then leave Kirua Mortuary on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023 at 9.30am for funeral service to be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, Nchiru. The final burial rites will be held thereafter at his home Nchiru Village.

Friends and relatives are meeting at 4.00pm daily, at both his homes at Fortsmith Gardens Estate, Ndumbuini, Lower Kabete, Nairobi and Nchiru Village, Meru.

He fought a good fight and he kept the faith.

It’s with deep sorrow and a humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of the retired headteacher Tenges primary school Jackson Rotich Ng’otie on 23rd of July, 2023 while undergoing treatment at MTRH Eldoret after long illness.

Son of the late Rotich Chemjor and the late Sote Rotich.

Mzee Jeremiah John Ondieki

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mzee Jeremiah John Ondieki on the 24th of July, 2023.

He was the youngest son of Janai Abaya Mariita and Elizabeth Nyaboke Mariita.

He is survived by his wife, Winifred Muthoni Ondieki. He was a loving father to Eng. Elizabeth Rogo, the late Alison Rogo, Janice Rogo, Prof. Florence Ondieki-Mwaura, Janet Ondieki-Gikonyo, Dr Janai Mariita Ondieki, Peter O’Kebaso Ondieki and Edward Mandere Ondieki.

He was doting grandfather to Wangechi Mwaura, Nyaboke Mariita, Muthoni Mwaura, Kemunto Mariita, Kwamboka O’Kebaso, Kerubo Mariita, Kemunto O’Kebaso, Omao Mandere, Noah Mandere and Imani Mandere.

He was father-in-law to Stephen Mwaura, John Gikonyo, Dr Kamene Kimenye — Mariita, Emily Njagi — O’Kebaso and Nya Mandere.

He was a dear brother to Sarah Kerubo, Leah Nyanchama, James Omao, John Mariita, Teresa Mose (all deceased) and Agnes Nyamwamu. He was also a brother to Bitange, Zachariah, Anna, Esther, Margaret, Jane, Rosalia, Eunice, Marisella, Loise, Marita, Yobes, Nyaboke and Joseph.

He was a loving cousin to Naphtali Ondieki, Dr Meshack Onguti among others.

He was an uncle to Ben, Grace, Joseph, George, Lucy, Zacharia, Isabella, Jane,Tom, Nyaboke, Manyange among others.

The funeral service will be held at the Nairobi Central SDA church on 2nd August, 2023 from 9.30am. The burial will be held in his Kitaru farm in Nyamira county on Friday, 4th of August, 2023.

Daily prayer meetings are being held in his Nairobi and Kitaru farm homes.

The burial of the late Pastor Joseph Ngila Kyale who passed away on 26th May 2023, will take place on Thursday, 3rd August 2023 in Miwani, Kalama Location, Machakos.

He was the father to Rachel M Kyale, Ronald K Kyale and Mrs Roda M Kyale Odari.

He was also the former Field Secretary of the East and Central Africa Division, Executive Director of the East African Union, Executive Director Central Kenya Conference and former Principal of Kamagambo Adventist College.

The cortege will leave Montezuma, Machakos at 10:00am for Miwani.The funeral service and burial will take place from 12:00 -16:00 at the graveside.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Mbagathi Way, on Thursday, 3rd August, 2023 for a night vigil at her home in Bondeni Village, Kebirigo, Nyamira County. The funeral service will be held on Friday, 4th August, 2023 at Kebirigo SDA Church grounds from 9.00am and burial thereafter at her Bondeni home.
