Rev. Johnson Gachoki Muchira

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing on of Rev. Johnson Gachoki Muchira on September 23rd, 2021.

He was the son of the Late Elam Gachoki Muchira & the Late Bilha Wakabari Muchira, and the son in law to Alfonse Njiru & Albina Njoki Njiru. He was the husband of Helen Ruguru Muchira and father to Prof. Koi & Kibby Kariithi, Leah & Andrew Junge (Norway), and Timothy & Sherry Muchira (USA). He was the grandfather to Gitari, Martin, Makena,Adia, Imani Sue, Kariithi,Wangeci, and Waruguru.

He was elder brother to Agnes Wanjiru, the Late Ndobi (died in childhood), the Late Ngari (died in childhood), Alex & Lucy Muriuki, the Late Cyrus & the Late Dorcus Nderi, the Late Irene Wanjiku,Titus (TNT) & Ann Njau, the Late Joseph & Esther Githinji, and Nahashon & Waithera Nganga. He was an uncle to the Muchira, Njiru, Maina,Theuri, Nderu, and Kabue families.

Family and friends will be meeting at the Muchira residence at Thika Greens on Sunday September 26th, 2021 at 1 pm, and at All Saints Cathedral on Monday September 27th at 5:30pm.

The funeral service to celebrate his amazing life will take place at St. Francis Church in Karen at 10:00 am on Thursday September 30th, 2021, followed by a private cremation ceremony.
