It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing away of Agnes Namwonza Okubo, after a short illness.

She was the beloved wife of Mzee Casper Blasio Okubo. Mother to Cecilia Anyango Okubo, Samuel Mnyika Okubo, Roseline Okubo, Augustine Namatsi Okubo, Henry Odonya Okubo, Fredrick Mukudi Okubo, Francis Anyango Okubo and Johnpaul Okubo.

Daughter of the late Samuel Sumba and Suzanna Sumba. Daughter-in-law to the late Mwalimu Marius Okubo, the late Cecilia Anyango and the late Ursula Nerima.

Sister to the late John Brown, the late Oaki,Akello, the late Negessa, the late Saywa, Christopher Magio Sumba,Tilly Sumba and Ruth Mukudi. A valued aunt, mentor and friend to many.

Sister-in-law to Mama Felistas Okubo, Lucia Muckoya, Hon. Robert and Dr.Anne and Mungai, George and Grace Okubo, Brig (Rtd) H. Ofula, Selina Okubo, among others.

Mother-in-law to Abednego Atika, Florence Mnyika, Marie Kinshala, Meta Ntumba, Judy Akoth, Lillian Moss, Emelia Obara, Rostella Bukhala, Fleria Okelo, Dorica Opimbi, among others.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, 08/07/2022 at 5.30am, after a short prayer service; later at 4.00pm, a funeral service will be held at Bulemia Church in Budalangi.

The burial will take place on 09/07/2022 in Bulemia Village, Budalangi Sub-county, Busia County.
