Alfred Momanyi Nyairo

The death has occurred of Alfred Momanyi Nyairo (“Senior ”) of Nyairo & Company, Advocates Eldoret and Kalua Farm, Kitale.

He was the husband of the late Ruth Agneta Nyairo. Son of the late Nyairo Nyasao and the late Sarah Kerubo Nyairo and Kerebi Nyairo of Gesusu, Kisii County, and son-in-law of the late Zakayo Kwendo and the late Damaris Kwendo of Ebwali, Vihiga County. Father of Ruth Kemunto Mokong’u Reed (U,S.A), Alfred Kwendo Omwoyo Nyairo (U.S.A),Tom Gitamo Nyairo and Trudy Nyaboke Oyando Nyairo (USA). Father-in law of Mark Reed (U.S.A.), Elena Nyairo (U.S.A) and Dr. Patricia Nyairo.

Grandfather of Cameron, Michael, Zachary and Eli. Brother of the late Ezekiel King’oina, the late Edwin Omwoyo, the late Charles Magati, Alex Nyairo, the late Joseph Ongeri, Maranga Nyasae, the late Nicholas Onchiro, the late Anne Kemuma, Zachariah Onsindu, Josephine Mogotu, John Mogaka, Joyce Nyanduko Teresa Gesare and Mary Mokong’u. Brother-in-law of the late Rhoda Nyavono, the late Hon, Eric Khasakhala, the late Nashon Ndale, Janet Masaba the late Joshua Buliro, the late Betty lmbira, the late Alice Makokha and Florence Achala.

Nephew to the late Nyang’era Masara, the late Reuben Orora, Nyang’era Nyasae and Gitamo Nyasae. Cousin of the late Maonga Nyasae, the late Nelson Nyang’era, Abel Ondiba, the late Oilyartatha Onyiego, and Shem Nyang’era. Uncle of many, including: Alfred Nyairo -Junior” Advocate, Eldoret; Sam Nyairo, the late Dr. John Orora, Fred Orora, Advocate, Zablon Omwoyo, Zablon Magati, Pamela Magati, Prof. Elias Maranga, Moturi Maranga, Joel Nyasae, Obed Nyasae Edna Ongeri, Evelyn Pande, Christine Moraa, Sarah Iraya, Sam Omwoyo, Charlie Magati, Dr Winnie Nyanduko, Dr, Sarah Nyairo, Edwin Omwoyo, the late Francis, Zablon, Otomu and numerous nephews and nieces from the greater Kwendo family.

The journey to Mzee’s final resting place is as follows: Tuesday, 5th November, 2019; Funeral Service at the All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi at 12 noon. Wednesday, 6th November, 2019; Funeral Service at ACK St Matthew’s Cathedral, Eldoret at 9am. Friday, 8th November 2019; Burial ceremony at Kalua Farm, Kiminini, along the main Kitale-Webuye Highway, from 10am.

Meanwhile, family and friends are meeting as follows: Nairobi: Today at 5pm CITAM, Valley Road and All Saints’ Cathedral, Wednesday, 30th October, 2019, from 5:30 pm. Other days: Tom Nyairo’s house, Eldoret: 5pm daily at Santuri Court, Kenyatta St and on Tuesday, 5th November, 2019 at Wagon Wheel Hotel from 5pm Kitale: Daily at Kalua Farm.

The Lord gave us abundantly, and the Lord has taken away one of His best!
