It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Ambassador Felistas Vunoro Khayumbi, MBS, a career civil servant and distinguished diplomat. Formerly Kenya’s ambassador to Israel; administrator in the central government (Ministries Of Health, Devolution, the then Transport & Communication, and Provincial Administration).

Beloved mother of Sandra Ochieng’ (USA) and adopted daughter, Laura Butoyi (USA).

Loving daughter of the late Martha Shiboko Khayumbi and Mr. Ernest Khayumbi of MutahoVillage, Ikolomani, Kakamega County.

Beloved sister of John Khayumbi, the late Pius Khayumbi, Justine Khayumbi, Patrick Khayumbi (USA), Beatrice Khayumbi Shisoka, Brenda Khayumbi (KPA), Abscondita Khayumbi (USA) and the late Purity Njeri Khayumbi.

Sister-in-law to Milka Matsawi, Busara Kanana, Bonny Butoyi, the late Bob Shisoka, Charles Shikanga and Raymond Osogo (USA).

Loving aunt to Christopher, Mark, Sammy, Sande, Jayjay, Dr. Andrew Okello, Erick, Hans, Jeri, Kevin, Derrick (SA), Vanessa, Vidal, Daryl, Tony, Alvin (twin),Tamara, Ian and Martha, among others. Grandmother to Jacob and others. Adored daughter of Bashumuli and Bashiangala.

Family and friends will hold a fundraiser on Wednesday, 30th March, 2022 at the United Kenya Club (UKC), starting from 5.30pm, to offset the medical bill. Contributions can be sent to Pay Bill number 8045579.

Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 31st March, 2022 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kileleshwa, at 10.00
am.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 1st April, 2022 at 8.00 am.The burial ceremony will take place on Saturday, 2nd April, 2022 starting from 9.00am, at her home in Mua Hills.
