Son of Alfred Afwande and Lukelesia lyaya. Brother to the late Paulo Afwande, the late Romano Afwande, Sabina Atsieno & Leonard Afwande. Husband to Prisca Nyongesa Ofunya, Getrude Ofunya, the late Emily Ofunya & Millicent Adhiambo.

Father to the late Rosemary Adhiambo, Samuel Ogot, Dester Ofunya, Sarah Ofunya, Fredrick Tati, Prof. Ofunya Afwande, Mary Hyacinth (Acc, Nyamira County), Moses Ofunya, Stephen Ofunya, Lucy Ofunya, Alice Ofunya, Jimmy Ofunya, Clare Ofunya, Beatrice Ofunya, the late Fred Ofunya, Stella Ofunya,Auma Roselyne, and Mediatrix lyaya.

Brother-in-law to the late Kenneth Mpaka, Apollonia Sikhukhulo, the late John Mpaka, the late prof Gregory Mpaka, Genevieve Mpaka, Galikano Mpaka, Bonnie Mpaka, Peggy Mpaka, Reuben Mpaka, Isaac Mpaka, Albine, Rommy, Beatrice, Ameda and Colleta Mpaka. In-law to the late Dennis Owino, Michael Juma and Jentrix Akinyi.

The cortege leaves Butula Mission Hospital Mortuary on Friday 13th May, 2022 for his home at Nelaa Village. The burial service will be held on Saturday 14th May, 2022 from 9.00am at Nelaa Village (next to Nelaa Primary School) Sikoma Sub-location, Butula Sub-county in Busia County.
