Athanasius Mugendi Gitemba

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Athanasius Mugendi Gitemba of National Museums of Kenya that occurred on 24th August, 2022 after he drowned in River Tana at Grand Falls (Kibuka).

Son to Stephen M’Chari M’Runguma (Gitemba) and Catherine Karoki Gitemba. Brother to Cacilia Kagendo, the late James Nkondi, Alice muthoni, Elosy Mukami, Darius Ntwiga, Sabastian Nthana and Jediel Muriungi. He was uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Friends and family are meeting daily up to Wednesday, 7th September, 2022 at his home at Makanyanga village from 6:30pm.

The cortege will leave Marimanu Level 4 Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, 8th September, 2022 at 8:00am for funeral service and interment at Makanyanga village, Kajuki Location, Igambang’ombe Sub-County, Tharaka Nithi County at 11:00am.
