It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Benjamin Gitonga Kanyi (Daddy), of the Office of the Deputy President on 22nd July, 2023 around noon, after a short illness.

Brother to Micheal Mathenge (Amboseli, Serena), George Macharia, Florence Wangui, Winfred Nyawira, Isaiah Muthui (Kenya Air-force), Agnes Gathoni.

Son to John Kanyi Gitonga and Lilian Nyaguthii.

Grandfather to Dean Githinji.

Uncle to Christine Wamunyu, Peris Moraa, Alex Kanyi, Jimleeves Kanyi, Jemima Wairimu, Sharon Wangechi, Fideris Nyaguthii, Terryann Namayian, Leon Kanyi, Leon Loilepwa, Lily Warukira, Njagi, Nd’ungu,Wanjiru and Kahito.

The cortege leaves Mathari Consolata Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 28th July, 2023 at 9.00am, for a burial service at his home in Rureraini Village, Kieni Constituency, Nyeri County.
