Bishop Emeritus Beneah Justin Salala Okumu

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to eternal glory of Bishop Emeritus Beneah Justin Salala Okumu. He was on treatment at Eldoret Hospital.

Loving husband of Mama Esther Salala (Kibabii University). Dearly beloved Dad of Steve Biko Salala (Kenya Water Institute) and Joy Valerie Wamanya Salala (Technical University of Mombasa).

Son of the late Senior Assistant Chief John Robert Okumu Wesebebe and the late Lay Leader Mama Joyce Fridah Wamanya Okumu of Munami, Matungu Sub-county in Kakamega County. Brother to Aggrey Adongo, Lay Leader William Muruka, Wycliffe Nandiri, Morris Okumu, Risper Oluyayi, the late Laban Okhanga and the late George Shirobo. Step-son to Mama Jennifer Awino. Step-brother to Peter, Pamela, Hellen and the late John.

A dear son-in-law to the late Mzee Joshua Maloba Olando and Mama Beatrice Awino Maloba of Uhuyi Village Mayingo.

Brother-in-law to Teddy Maende, Joshua Onyango, Lilian Saidi, Robert Maloba, the late Pamela, Oliver and Monica.

The cortege leaves Life Care Hospital – Bungoma, on Thursday 25th May, 2023, for a memorial service at Bishop Hannington Cathedral – Mumias Diocese at 10.00am.

Bishop Salala’s body will be laid to rest at Munami, Matungu Sub-county on Friday 26th May, 2023.

Bishop Beneah, rest in eternal peace in the Eternal King’s courts. We thank you for accepting God’s call for your life to be spent unreservedly in His service. Your legacy of faithful worship and integrity will remain a testimony to many generations.
