Ten Year Anniversary

1927 — 2011

We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday, And days before that too.

We think of you in silence, We often speak your name; All we have now are memories, And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake, With which we will never part; God has you in his keep, We have you in our heart.

It broke our heart to lose you. But you didn’t go alone, For a part of us went with you; The day God took you home.

You are ever constant in the memory of your loving wife, children Bryan, Cynthia, Kimenyi and Katanu, grandchildren Muthoni, Jasmine, and Kali, your brothers and sisters, your extended family and your many friends.

Loved Always, Sadly Missed

Baba, Our love for you transcends time and space. Though we long for your presence daily, we give thanks for your place in Eternity with Our Heavenly Father. The separation has been challenging for each of us in our own way. God’s Comfort has come through those who have reached out to us — physically and virtually – in memory of you. We are eternally grateful to each of them for this blessing.

We, the Arungu Olendes, are humbled and strengthened by the outpouring of love and support we received from Family, Relatives, Friends, Neighbors, Classmates, and Colleagues. We appreciate you. Each of you touched our hearts and eased our suffering. Dr. Charles Kariuki, Dr. Joseph Aluoch, Dr. Thikra Sharif; the Nairobi Hospital Nursing Team, and the Avenue Healthcare Homecare Nurses – thank you for the dedicated and selfless care you provided for Baba.

Rev. Canon Peter Adolwa, Rev. Canon Francis Omondi, Rev. John-Mark Oduor Onyango, and Rev. Phillip Owuor of the Anglican Church of Kenya; and the Clergy of AIC Obugi Nam, Nyakach — your prayers and fellowship continue to sustain us. May God bless you and your Ministry abundantly.

We extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta, Rt. Hon. (Eng.) Raila Odinga, and CS — Dr. Fred Matiang’i, who enabled a dignified burial during a tragic time for Kenya and the world.

Rest in perfect peace Baba, until we are reunited forever, Amen.

Isaiah 35: 9- 10

No lion will be there, nor ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
