Bertha Achieng Andaro

 (11/01/1949 – 31/01/2013)

Deep in our hearts, you are fondly remembered. Sweet happy memories cling round your name. True hearts that loved you with deepest affection, Always will love you just the same.

One of the best whom God could lend, Few on this earth your equal we find, Always so good. unselfish and kind, Loving, thoughtful, gentle and true.

Pleasant in manner, patient in pain, Sincere and genuine in your heart and mind, Beautiful memories you left, behind, Loyal and true to the end of your days.

The flowers we place upon your grave, may wither and decay, But our love for you will never fade away, Your footprints on the sands of time, You lived and gave and most of all you loved.

Your sacrifices against all odds shall forever remain ingrained in us, You left a mark on the countless hearts that you touched, As long as life and memory last, we shall remember thee, We are eternally grateful to God for you.

Your physical presence is missed and without doubt you continue to live in the hearts of your husband; James Andaro. Your children; Mildred, Eunice, Walter, Duncan and Helen. Your grandchildren; Jojo, Laverne, Milan, Samuel, Leroy, Luke, Bethany, Stanley and Liam. Your great-grandchildren; Kiana and Kaia, relatives and friends.

Our comfort lies in the words of the bible: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall live. And whoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. John 11:25-26

20th Anniversary

1940 – 2000

It has been twenty years, and in a flash they have gone by. Just the other day, we heard your laughter, and witnessed your joy. We heard your voice and saw your smile. The memories linger and life goes on.

Many of the children, are now adults. And many more have come, to continue your legacy. And to all left behind, your wisdom and presence prevail.

Greatly missed by all your family, friends, former colleagues and the world at large.

Continue to Rest in Perfect Peace Mum

4th Anniversary

It’s been so long since you’ve been gone.

It still hurts all day long. There isn’t a day that goes by without us thinking why. So many things we wanted to say, we never imagined you’d be so far away. In our hearts you’ll always be until the time is meant for us. We never got to say goodbye but we know you’re always by our side. We share so many happy memories, our husband, father, guka and friend.

May our love for you reach heaven today.

You’re sadly missed by all.

Until we meet again.

20th Anniversary

28th January 2000 was a great day in heaven. The day the Lord made it known to us that you had fought His good fight, you had finished His race and your work here was done.

It has been 20 years since your golden heart stopped beating, but not even death could take your love away.

We draw strength from having had you as the greatest friend when companionship was sought, the strongest supporter when encouragement could not be found and the wise counsellor when guidance was needed.

You remain the towering beacon that you always were in our lives. We pray that your soul continues to rest in perfect peace. Forever cherished by your family, friends and all those whom you touched their lives.

Mama, you will forever be missed

In Loving Memory/2nd Anniversary

Days have turned to weeks, months to years and today we count two years since you suddenly left us.

Shock and grief still engulf our hearts as our feeble attempts to dry up our tears continue.

We get consolation from the knowledge that you are safe and secure with the Lord in His Heavenly abode; a sanctuary that is ever blessed. Pray for us as we pray for you daily till our resurrection.

Forever you remain in our hearts and thoughts continue resting in Jesus’ arms.

We cherish and love you always.

Fondly remembered by your loving Mum and Dad, Meshy, extended family members and friends.

15th Anniversary

We can shed tears that you are gone or we can smile because you lived.

We can close our eyes and pray that you’ll come back or we can open our eyes and see all you’ve left.

Our hearts can be empty because we can’t see you or we can be full of the love you shared.

We can remember you and only that you’ve gone or we can cherish your memory and let it live on.

We can cry and close our minds be empty and turn our backs or we can do what you’d want: smile, open our eyes, love and go on.

1st Anniversary and Appreciation

1950 – 2019

A year ago this world lost the greatest of a kind, a loving, charismatic and devoted family man and friend!!

Daddy, remembering you is easy for we do with every sunrise, missing you is a heartache that never goes away. As we celebrate your life today, we remember the love, care and guidance you gave us, the countless sacrifices you made for us and the exemplary life you lived. A decent man, charitable with your time and resources, ever ready and willing to give back to the community and help those who needed a hand. You lived authentically, guided by your Christian faith, embracing people from all walks of life. In life’s difficult moments you were resilient, remained good-humored and spread good cheer despite the discomfort and suffering. These reflections offer solace and comfort amidst the anguish of grief and loss and inspire us to strive to be our best.

You are loved and dearly missed by mum, your brother, your sons and daughters, grandchildren and all your wonderful family and friends. Dad, we are infinitely grateful to God for the time we had together. You are loved and remembered always.

To all our dear colleagues, friends, family, neighbors and well-wishers who stood by us in various ways during Dad’s sudden illness and passing, we are immensely grateful. Special gratitude is extended to the Aga Khan University Hospital medical team, the Kenya Medical Research Institute, Good Shepherd Church, GARRA fraternity and the committees of family and friends in Nairobi & Chemosot.

KONGOI MISING. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
