We, the family of the late George Gitu Mubira, give thanks to the Almighty God for the long life he gave our patriarch and the precious moments we shared with him.

Special thanks to Dr. David Silverstein, Dr. Kahuho, Dr. Muhindi Wanjugu, Dr. Charles Kariuki, who had been attending to him since he started ailing in 2014. Especially Dr. Newton Wachira who treated him at home during his final days.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Chief and entire administration of Ngecha location for providing security during the grieving period and funeral service.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our relatives, neighbours’ and friends in Kenya and the diaspora who stood with us during those trying moments. We were overwhelmed by your love, kindness, prayers, phone calls-, and personal visits to our home to condole with us.

The funeral committee led by our able chairman did a commendable job by organizing a befitting send off for our father. Our gratitude also goes to the young men who prepared his final resting place.

Special thanks to the Vicar and congregation of ACK St. Stephens Church, Mahinga for your consistent prayers and support. If you participated in any way towards our patriarch’s send-off and we have not mentioned you personally, kindly receive our appreciation and may God bless you.

A year ago, we lost you, the cornerstone and the pillar of our family, Time has done little to dull the pain of your absence. Our hearts still break with every day that passes without you. You were the best husband, father and brother to us, and it is the honour of a lifetime to be known as your family.

You are dearly and desperately missed by your beloved wife Pauline Nyambura, your loving daughters Karen Wangari, Ciru Muriuki, and Christine Muthoni, your siblings David Gakuo, Philip Thusta, Stephen Matheri, Anthony Waiganjo and Peter Weru, your nieces and nephews, and your large circle of friends in Kenya and around the world,

The Muriuki family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has stood with us during this most difficult time. We the family of the late Dr Christopher John Kirubi, wish to express our profound gratitude to the Almighty God for the gift of his life. We are most grateful to have been the beneficiaries of his unwavering love, enthusiastic support and guidance for decades.

We are deeply grateful to H.E Uhuru Kenyatta C G H, President of the Republic of Kenya, H E Nana Akufo-Addo President of the Republic of Ghana, H E Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados Former President H E Mwai Kibaki, Former Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Odinga, Former First Lady H E Mama Ngina Kenyatta, H E Mrs. Rachel Ruto, Second Lady of Kenya, Hon. Kalonzo Musyola, Hon Musaha Mudavadi, CS Amina Mohammed, CS James Macharia, CS Joe Mucheru, PS Andrew Kamau, Sen Johnson Sakala, Hon Peter Kenneth and other government officials, who made time to condole with the family.

We extend our eternal grautude to Dr Lipika Goyal and her excellent team at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, who provided diligent and compassionate care to Dr Kirubi throughout his illness and treatment in the US. Additionally, we offer our gratitude to Dr Prof Godfrey Lule, Dr. Martin Wanyoike, Prof Symon Guthua, Dr Vilayakumar and Dr Sunil Lamba for exceptional care here in Kenya. Furthermore a very special thank you is offered to his home care team of nurses who tended to him at the end of his life. We thank you all.

To the FEM Family Church led by Rev Teresa Wairimu, we offer our sincere and overwhelming gratitude for conducting a beautiful funeral service in Karen, and thereafter at the burial service in Bendor Farm, Thika. We also thank Rev David Kabibi, Rev. Nick Korir, Nairobi Chapel, Dr Karita Mbagara, CITAM Church, who prayed for our entire family during Dr Kirubi’s cancer journey and beyond.

We gratefully acknowledge the many expressions of support received from Centum Group, Capital FM, International House Ltd, Bayer East Africa, DHL Smart Applications, Haco Industries, Nairobi Bottlers, Sidian Bank, UAP, Minet, Baraka Roses and all others, who assisted with funeral arrangements.

There was no detail left untouched and we thank you all for dedicating your time to give a befitting send off to Chairman. Indeed, he would have been very proud of you all.

Following the death of our Patriarch, Mzee Naftal Nyamongo, we the Nyamongo family are humbled by the immense support that we received from relatives, friends and well-wishers. The messages of encouragement have continued to uplift us through this period.
