It has been one year since you went to be with the Lord. Your cheerful, kind and loving nature will forever remain in our hearts. You had a heart purer than gold, kind and readily accommodating to all. Fondly cherished and missed by family of the late Mama Imelda Nechesa Salasya, your sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, your Pastor, relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the committee in Nairobi headed by Michael Wamae for their efficiency and skill at navigating us through the interment procedures until Jimi was laid to rest in Gathukiini on 30th April.

THANK YOU! The Njogu girls would like to offer our appreciation for the love and support you’ve shown us during our darkest moment. Special thanks to: ACK St. James Church Buruburu led by Ven. Thank you for the calls, visits, financial support and above all for the prayers that have really carried us through and comforted us.You cried with us and really encouraged us. We have truly been overwhelmed by your love! We gave our parents a glorious send off on Friday the 15th of May 2020 and our hearts are at peace now. May God increase you and bless you all!

TRIBUTE Dad and Mum dearest, This feels so surreal, we never saw it coming. You made our life easy, so-comfortable. Despite all our mistakes and challenges you still accepted us back with open hands. You loved us and showed us daily. Thank you for giving us the chance to experience true love through this family. Thank you for being the best parents we could ever hope for. We are in pain but happy because you lived and did everything you were supposed to. You both did well, you can rest now we shall be okay!

We, the family of the late Janet Nyaleso Were, wish to express our deepest gratitude to all individuals, fellowships, Chamas and Churches.

We are especially grateful to the Janet Were Funeral Committee, the former and current members of staff of St. George’s Primary School, the alumni of St. George’s Primary School and the Church of God in East Africa (Kenya) who stood with us during the trying time of her ailment and condoled with us extending support in various ways during the period following her untimely death and burial.

Our special thanks to Doctors, Nurses and other members of staff at The Nairobi Hospital, CCI International, Cancer Care Kenya, Nairobi Cancer and Radiotherapy Centre, Dr. Andrew Odhiambo, Dr. Ahmed Komen, Dr. Esther Nafula, Dr. Gladwell Kiarie and Meridian Hospital. Our relatives and friends also deserve our thanks for surrounding her with great love and prayers as well as bidding her farewell on the day of burial.

We, the family of the late Mama Dorcas Busolo Ligono, wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who stood with us in spirit and physical presence during the passing of our Matriarch Mother.

On the 26th of February 2020, she went to rest after bravely battling Diabetes and Hypertension for over 12 years.

We acknowledge the many expressions of love, kindness and support during the hour of bereavement. We are also truly grateful to everyone who supported Mum throughout the period she was battling the health conditions.

A special thanks is given to Friends Church (Quakers) and everyone who provided care in various ways including visits.

One of the gifts Mama cherished in her later days was the ‘Lighting of the Lamp’ by the United Society of Friends Women (USFW) in recognition of her exemplary leadership and service to the Church and Community at large.  She served on various Church Committees in addition to membership of the Church Choir that performed at many functions and won many accolades in the 1970s.

Mum is fondly remembered by her fellow congregants for her mantra: ‘Love, Humility, and Forgiveness’.

Mum was the wife of the late Erasto Ligano and mother of the late Jenifer Mugoshi, Enock Milaho, Julie Nichesa Lugonzo, the late Henry Muteshi, Isaac Ligono and Winston Ligono.

She was the daughter of the late Saul Litsalia and the late Rasoah Adamba.
Before her illness struck, Mama was full of energy and loved farming. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness and for feeding many needy mothers and children.

She was the grandmother of Jackline Adamba, Fareen Injete, Wendy Adamba, Brian Ligono, Mercy Injete, Eugene Ligono, Calvin Ligono, Laurie Vusolo, Felix, Dennis, Kelvin Litsalia, Eddy, Mildred Injete, among others. She was a Great grandmother of many.

Sister of the late Esther Khayumbi Muyeyia, the late Solomon Shagwira, Ziporrah Lugonzo, the late Tilas Ambani, Perina Imbenzi, the late Boaz Mujera and Sarah Ayuma.

Beloved ‘Senje’ of Susy Kimani, Wilson Imbwaka, Ayub Inziani, Nelly Adamba, Maureen Mujera, among others.

Mother-in-law of Geraldine, Adelaide and Addah. She was a sister-in-law of Rebeccah, Rose, the late Rasoah Andeka, Anna Sitati, among others.

As we are unable to reach everyone individually, please accept this message as an appreciation of the love and comfort extended to us during the send-off.

Grandmother of Antony Kamwenji (USA), Moureen Wambui Kamwenji, Kevin Kamwenji, Celestine Nyambura Muteithia, Marjorie Waithera Koimburi, Ashley Wambui Koimburi, Tabitha Muteithia, Paul Kamwenji Muteithia, JoyWambui Kamwenji, Prudence Muteithia and Victor Kamwenji Maw. Great Grandmother of Ashley, Basil, Prince, Gabriel and Hansel. Daughter of the Late Andrew Matu and Elizabeth Wagithi. Sister of the Late Charity Wairimu, Muturi Matu, Leah Muthoni, Joyce Ngima and Wilson Nderitu Mau (ABC Karatina).

The Cortege Leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Thursday 21st May 2020 at 7am. The funeral service will take place at her home in Giakagina Village (Kirima). Gitimaini Sub-location Karatina Sub County (Nyeri) from 10 am. Due to the government’s directive on public gatherings, only a limited number of family members will attend.

It’s been a year since God stretched His Hand and chose you to be with Him. No one knows the pain beyond our smiles and tears we keep holding back, for you filled our lives with love and laughter. Your love for us was complete and unconditional.

We still have not come to term with the fact that you are truly gone forever. However, we thank God for His comfort and unfailing Grace and Love.

You are forever cherished in our hearts and thoughts. You are deeply missed by your mother Janet, brothers Eng. Ian Kinuthia, Evans Kinuthia and your best friend Joan Kinyanjui.

We sincerely express our heartfelt gratitude to our relatives, friends, colleagues and all well-wishers who condoled with us.
