It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved mother Rebeccah Wangari Samson that occurred on Friday 26th March 2021 at Kiriani Mission Hospital after a short illness.

Wife to Samson Ngugi. Mother to Mary (Murata Sacco), Elizabeth (NCC), late Virginiah, Jane (Business Lady), Peter (Business Man), the late Margret, Grace (Teacher Nairobi), the late Esther, Ruguru Mwenda, (MOH Nanyuki), the late Macharia and Millicent (National Police Service). Mother-in-law to Johnson, late Gichuki, Mukigi, Wambui, late Williams, Waweru, Titus, Mwenda Meme (CCIO Kajiado), Felister and Mwangi. Grandmother to Mirriam, Samwel, Emmanuel, Abrose, Amos, Jackline, Purity, Kendi, Claire, Noel, Valerie, Brian, Patience among others, and a great-grandmothe• to many.

The cortege leaves Kiriaini Mission Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 31st March at 9.am. for final prayers and burial at Muturiguru Village Kigumo in Murang’a County.

Peter Kihika Njuguna

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of Mr. Peter Kihika Njuguna which occurred on 27th March, 2021. He was the Director of Rioma Enterprises Ltd (Limuru), Hexagon Ventures Ltd (Utavrala), and a Board of Management member Mary Leakey Girls High School.

Son of James Njuguna Kihika and Monica Nyambura Niuguna. Loving husband of Mrs Grace Nyambura Kihika. Father of Pauline Kihika, Dennis Kibikai, Kelvin Kihika and Mercy Kihika. Father-in-law of Grace Warnbui Kaniethe. Grandfather to Ava-Marrie Nyambura Niuguna. Brother to the late Waniiru, Wambui, Wanjiku, Nganga, Wairimu, Mbugua, Njoki, Kanzau and Niambi.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home on 1st April, 2021, at 8.00am. The funeral service will be held at Ngecita from 11.00am.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his Limuru residence from 5 00prn to 6.00pm.

The last respect will be held wider strict adherence to Covid- 19 Government Guidelines.

Paul Kabeere Kirera

Sunrise: 30th March, 1934 – Sunset: 23rd March, 2021

We, the family of Mzee Paul Kabeere Kirera, give glory to God for his full life. Our dear father was promoted to glory on 23rd, March 2021. He was a career civil servant who served in many parts of Kenya and retired as the Senior Superintendent of Roads, Isiolo District. He lived In Isiolo after retirement and was a staunch member of Isiolo and Gathiranga Methodist Church.

Son of the late Johana M’Kirera and the late Elizabeth Kabuuri and Janet Karoki. A loving husband to Jennifer Gacherl Kabeere. Father of John Kabeere and Stella, Judith and John Ndereba, Lydia and Gideon Koros, Muriungi Kabeere and Lydia, Lucy and Kinyua Mucheke and Koome and Beatrice.A doting grandfather to the “Klan”, comprising of 13 grandsons and 11 granddaughters. He has 12 great-grandchildren. Brother to the late Kambura, Marion, Dr. Murithi, the late Jacob, Muriuki, Marete, Bundi, Margaret and the late MaingLA loving uncle to many.

A funeral service will be held at Katheri Methodist Church, on Thursday 1st of April, 2021, from 10.00am, in strict observance of public health guidelines, followed by a private burial ceremony at his Gathiranga home.

Patrick Kiura Njuki

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden demise of Patrick Kiura Njuki, an employee of Afya Sacco Society Limited, Nairobi which occurred on 23 March 2021 at Kenyatta National Hospital.

He was son of the late Njuki Njui and late Monica Kariuko Njuki. He was loving the husband to Faith Wamukore Kiura of Salvation Praise Christ Church, Kasarani, Nairobi. Doting father to Mercy Wanja Njuki, Purity Wambui Njuki and Mark Njenga Njuki of Kahawa Garrison Primary School. Brother to the late Samuel Njagi, Eunice Wambui, Francis Gacoki and Edward Mugo.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Thika Road, Kabati, at 7.00 a.m. on Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Burial will follow at his home in Kanderi Village, Gatu Sub-location, Baragwi Location, Gichugu Sub-County, Kirinyaga County.

The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken. May his Name be praised —Amen.

Nancy Wanjiru Mungai

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Nancy Wanjiru Mungai of Silanga Village, Lerrokuei Location, Kajiado North Subcounty which occurred on Friday, 26 March 2021 after a short illness.

She was the beloved wife of George David Mungai, cherished mother of Andrew Mungai and Vincent Likimani. Daughter of Peter Ndung’u and Sophia Watiri of Upper Matasia. Daughter in law of the Late Andrew Mungai and Marion Njuguna of Upper Matasia. Sister to the Late Jane Kamunya, Teresia Ndung’u, John Kinyanjui, the Late Paul Mbugua, David Kimani, Alice Mugure,Arthur Mburu, Ann Muthoni and Fred Morong’a.

Sister in law to Anastasia Wanjiru, Catherine Mberiri, Elizabeth Mang’uru, Reuben Njoroge among others. She was a much Adored aunt to many nephews and nieces.

The cortege departs St Mary’s Hospital Langata, on Tuesday, 30 March 2021 at 8:00 am. The funeral service and interment will be held at Silanga Village, Lerrokuei Location, Kajiado North Sub county. All Government COVID 19 Protocols to be strictly observed.

Mwalimu Pauline Njeri Njoroge

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the demise of Teacher Pauline Njeri Njoroge, who passed away on 25th March, 2021, after a short illness. At the time of her passing, she was the Principal of St. Mathew’s Kianyingi, Kandara, and was previously at St. Charles Lwanga, Kandara.

Daughter of the late Paul Guchu and Joanina Muthoni. Wife of Boniface Njoroge (UoN). Sister of Peter Kimani, Mary Kimiti and Peninah Guchu. Mother of Mathew Ngaruiya, David Guchu, Cecilia Wairimu, Norbert Kiria, Mary Muthoni and Nobert Guchu. Mother-in-law of Doreen, Rhoda, Davi and Teresia. Grandmother of Gavriel, Levi, Ethan, and Luke. Sister-in-law of Charles Miringu, Elizabeth Mbatia, John kamau and Edward Mungai. She is a loving aunt and close friend to many.

The cortege will leave Monalisa Montezuma Funeral Home – Kabati on Wednesday 31st March, 2021, at 8.00am followed by a funeral service at their family home in Muthitha Village, Ngurwe-ini and thereafter burial at the same place. Mourners are advised to adhere to the Ministry of Health Covid- 19 Protocols and Guidelines.

He was the last born son of the late Mzee Evan Mwavua and Mama Deborah Mwavua. Son in law to Dorah Samba Mnene. Beloved husband to Sophie Manga Masege. Father to Deborah Wacheghu Masege (Africa Film & TV Talent Training Institute), Dorah Masege (Strathmore University), Daisy Furaha Masege (Starsheikh Academy Athi River) and Dinah Chedi Masege (Starsheikh Academy Athi River).

Brother to Javan Mwavua (Taita), Eileen Mwait.a (Voi), Joy Mnjama (Botswana), Mercy Mwavua (Taita), Lydia Kiti (MSA), late Veronica Mwavua, late Kiteto Mwavua, Mary Mayama (Eldoret) and Agneta Mwambela (MSA). He was brother in law to Esther Mnene, Andrew Boss Mnene, FlorenceWanjala, late Gibran Mwaita, Prof. Nathan Mnjama, late Nicholas Kiti, Se-Lunani Mayama and the late David Mwambela. Loving Cousin, Nephew, Uncle, Grandfather, Workmate and Friend to many.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, family and friends are meeting daily online via Zoom and at his home at Green Park estate, Athi River, for prayers and funeral arrangements while observing Covid-19 protocols.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home for burial on Thursday 1st April 2021 at his home in Mbololo Location, Macha (Sere village), TaitaTaveta County.

Joseph Bartai

1962 – 2021

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and with a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of Mr. Joseph K. Bartai, which occurred on 27th March 2021 after a short illness. Until his death, he was an employee of Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) stationed at Uasin Gishu County.

He was a loving husband of Lucy Jeruto Kiplagat. Son of the late Michael Kimibei Bartai and Salina Jemaiyo Bartai. Father to Derick, Joy, Sharon, Lorna, Sylvia and Brian. Brother to Margaret, Anne, Christine, Stanley, Peter, Caroline,Willy, Late Sammy, Mary, ames. Cousin to Alfred, Isaac, Consobilha, Major Abraham Lagat, Rossy, Christopher, Andrew, Juda amongst many. Grandfather to Chebet and Limo. Father in law to Edwin and Titus.

The cortege will leave Eldoret Hospital Mortuary on 30th March 2021 at 2.00pm. There will be a service for his final send off at his home in Bethany Estate – Mororia village, ken Elgeyo Marakwet County on Wednesday 31st March 2021 .
