It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Judy Wangui Mwangi, of Kenya Promotion and Branding Authority (KEPROBA), that occurred on 8th March, 2021.

Wife of Samuel Mwangi Wairegi (Wide Range Concepts). Doting mother of Warren Wairegi (Student Light Academy), Wendy Wangeci (Student St. Hannah’s Preparatory) and Gianna Muthoni. Daughter of Peter Kamurua and Susan Muthoni Kamurua. Daughter-in-law of Francis Wairegi Macharia and Grace Wangeci Wairegi. Sister of Eric and Sophie, Martin and Monica, Edwin and Janet, Dennis and Ann. Sister-in-law of Antony and Georgina, Lawrence and Marjorie, Kenneth and Esther, Osbert and Fraciah.

Family and friends are meeting at her home, Muthaiga North and Southern Springs Restaurant along Outering Road for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Referral and Funeral Home, along Eastern bypass, on Saturday 13th March, 2021, at 8.00am. Thereafter, she will be laid to rest at her home in Matithi Village, Kiharu, Murang’a County.

Judy you fought a good fight, have finished the race and kept the faith.

James Otieno Ogonda

It is with the humble acceptance of God’s will that the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and the Family announce the death of our dedicated ICT Deputy Manager, Mr. James Otieno Ogonda, that occurred on Saturday 27th February, 2021, at the Aga Khan Hospital – Kisumu, after a short illness.

Son of the late Mzee Vitalis Ogonda Otamo and Mama Mary Akinyi Ogonda. Step-son of the late Mama Maria Ogonda. A loving husband of Winnie Awino Ogutu. Doting father of Annie Ingaitsa formerly of Daystar University, Albert Ogonda of JKUAT and Marya Amira. Brother of Paul Ogonda, the late Vincent Oyaa, the late Dorine, Joel Ogonda of Nzoia Sugar Co Ltd, the late Jackline Auma, Harrison Ogonda of Police Airwing, Everline Anyango, Anne Ogonda and George Ogonda. Brother-In-law of Leo, Gladys, Esther, Florence, Grace, and Damarice; Uncle of Ted of Telcom, Victor, Cynthia, Miriam, George, Zacheus, Tom, Evans, and Boyd, among others.

Son-in-law of the late John Ogutu and the late Annie Ingaitsa Tera. Cousin of the late Walter, Fred, Maurice, James, Susan, Evelyn and Edward, among others. Nephew of Joseph, Caleb, Charles, Paul, Caren and Gladys.

The cortege will leave the Aga Khan Hospital. Kisumu mortuary on Friday 12th March, 2021, at noon for a church service at Tido ACK Church and proceed for an overnight stay at his rural home in Kanyawegi South West Kisumu location where the burial will take place on the 13th March, 2021.

Son of late Esther Wambura and late Muiga Kimacu. Husband of the late Jane Waruguru Kimari. Father of Peter Migwi, Lydia Nyambura, Beatrice Wangari, Mary Wangui (Britam Thika), John Muiga and Esther Muthoni. Father-in-law of Waceke, Ndegwa, Prof. Kareithi, Kariuki, Wambui and Macharia.

Brother of late Mary Wangui Kanyora, Joseph Mwangi (Ndereva) of Mwanza Hardware Kariobangi, late William Wanjohi, late Francis Mwangi (F. M Hardware Jerico Market). Step brother of Wangui, Wangari, Wangeci, late Waruhiu, late Wakiuru. Grandfather of Ben, John, Racheal,Abigeal, Cathline, Harriet and many others. Uncle of Benjamin Gathiru Mwangi (Mejja Donk) MP Embakasi Central, John Kagucia Speaker Nyeri County among others.

The cortege will leave KU Mortuary on 12th March 2021 to be laid to rest at his rural home Kangurwe Village Mukure-ini Nyeri.

Jackson Kitili Mativo

1955 – 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the promotion to glory of Jackson Kitili Mativo, formerly of the Financial Reporting Centre(FRC) and the Central Bank of Kenya(CBK), which occurred on Friday 5th March .2021.

He was the son of the late Moses Mativo Mwania and the late Esther Nthernba Mativo. He was husband to Dr. Peninah N. Kitili (Nairobi Hospital). Father to George Kitili, Grace Mueni Unachukwu (Germany) and Eng. Erick Mule Kitili (Germany). Father-in-law to Catherine, Chudy & Sunny. Grandfather to Ryan, Memo, Chichi, Kyra, Tyrell, Raquelle & Rylte. Brother to late Tabitha Mativo, Bishop James M. Mativo (Word of Faith Church, Naivasha), Ann Muthoka, Bernard Kavita, Late Agnes Kanini, Josephine Munyao, Kamanthe Mutuku, Eunice Mutuku, Eng, Mwania Mativo (Kenya Railways), Eng John W Mativo (KeRRA), and the Late Dorcas Kalondu.

He was son-in-law to the Late Daniel Kiawa Nzwili and the Late Elizabeth Waruguru Kiawa. Nephew to the late Maundu Mwania, late Mbeii Mwania, late Muli Mwania, late Mayoli Mwania, Late Mbeleete Mwisa, Tabitha Nzenge. Prayers and funeral arrangements are being held at his Karen residence, his Kyumbi home in Machakos County and at Riara Apartments starting at 5.30pm daily.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at CITAM, Valley Road on Wednesday 17th March 2021 starting from 2.00 pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Saturday 20th March, 2021 at 8.00am followed by a funeral service at his home in Kyumbi, Machakos County, arid burial thereafter at the same place.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Evan Mwaluma Mwandawiro announce the demise of Evan Mwaluma, which occurred on Monday, 8th March, 2021, at Mombasa Hospital.

Son of the late Mwandawiro Mghanga and the late Anastasia Chao. Loving husband of Phidilora Mghoi. Brother of the late James Mwasambo, the late Dorothy Wakio, Difrose Mghoi, Arnold Mwanganyi and Danleyson Mzae. Beloved father of Chao Mweu, the late Hudson Mjomba, Dr. James Mwandawiro Adeline Maghuwa, Janet Mwaluma and GeorgeWawaka. Father-in-law of Brig (Rtd) Joe BM Mweu, the late Agnes Mjomba, Lucy Mwandawiro, Morgan Walubengo and Joyce Wawaka. Loving Grandfather of Leslie, Blanche, Mike, Allan, Andrew, Chris, Jeremy, Nicholas and Ethan.

Family and friends are meeting daily (except weekends) at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, and the Little Theatre Club, Mombasa from 5.00pm.

Burial service will be held on Saturday, 20th March, 2021 at his home in Ngulu, Werugha, Taita Taveta County.

Councilor Dennis Koikai Naisho aka `Boss’

The death has occurred of Dennis Koikai Naisho aka ‘Boss’ who was the former Councillor of Stadium Ward in the defunct Narok County Council.

Son of Mohammed Isak, Doris and Kaltuma Mohammed. Husband to Millicent Sempui. Father to Precious Naini Naisho. Grandfather to Tywn, Tara and Koikai.

Brother to Eveline, Halima, Safla, Saida, Asha, the late Siad and Shukri, Ibrahim and Abdi. Nephew to the late Kesoi, the late Priscilla, Lillian, the Late Miriam, the late Peter, Nelson, the Late Livingstone.

Cousin to many. Uncle to Salim, Fasil, Mariam, Kisio, Muhammed Amin, Rahil and many others.

In-law to the late Senior Chief Mzee Antony Tumaina Mepukori and Mama Beatrice Somoina of Rombo village Oloitokitok in Kajiado county.

Cortege will leave Nairobi Women Hospital Mortuary-Adams branch Nairobi for a Funeral which will be held on Saturday March 13,2020 at his home Siyiapei village (Curio) Narok County.

Funeral meetings are being held daily at his home opposite Cottage Hospital Narok from 2 PM.

Betty Chepngeno Chirchir

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely demise of Betty Chepngeno Chirchir, Branch Manager NSSF Naivasha, which occurred on 6 March, 2021, after a long illness bravely borne.

Daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Chirchir (Rtd KNUT Chairman, Kenya) and Mrs. Mary Chirchir (Rtd Teacher). Loving Mother of Kevin Basuben, Faith Chepkorir and Charlotte Cheptoo. Sister of Jackson Ng’etich, Florence Cherono, Vincent Ng’etich, Alfred Ng’etich, Johnstone Ng’etich and Nicholas Ng’etich. Sister-in-law of Caroline Ng’etich, Fatuma Ng’etich, Jacqueline Nyachae, Caroline Mabil, and Anita Kaunga.

Friends and family are meeting daily at her lngobor farm and at her ancestral home at Litein for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The funeral service will be held on 13th March, 2021, at her Ingobor farm – Nakuru next to RVIST

Anne Wanangwe Obingo

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anne Wanangwe Obingo, wife of Mr. Sammy Joel Obingo.

She was the daughter of the late Maurice Anangwe and Christine Nyarotso of Shinamwenyuli sub-location, Butere, Kakamega County. Mother to the late Eunice Anyonje Chaacha, Joel, Paul, Michael, Eva and Phelistas. Mother-in-law to Chaacha Mwita, Natacha Anangwe, Salome Anyanzwa, Paul Otieno and Victor Ikiugu. Sister to the latefto Bonnie, late Sylvester, late Gilbert, Teresia, Victor, Margaret, Cecelia, Patrick, Helen, Elfa, Beatrice, Josephine and the late Ernest.

The body is at St. Mary’s Hospital Mumias Mortuary.

The cortege leaves the mortuary on Friday March 12, 2021 for a funeral mass at St. Peter’s Church Mumias. The mass will be held between 1 and 2pm. Thereafter, the cortege will leave for a night vigil at the family home at Shitukhumi Village, Mumias Town. The funeral mass will be held at the Shitukhumi, Mumias, family home on Saturday March 13, 2021 starting from 10.00am. Burial will take place at the same venue thereafter.

Andrew Gomes

30 November 1940 – 09 March 2021

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved uncle Andrew Gomes which occurred on the 9th of March 2021 in Eldoret.

He was a loving husband to the late Hirena Gomes, brother to John Gomes, the late Dina Lopes and late Sebastian Gomes and an inspiring uncle to Neves Lopes, Dominic Gomes, Linus Gomes, Victor Gomes and Isabella Gomes

The funeral will be on Friday the 12th of March 2021. We will begin with a church service at 10.30am at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Eldoret followed by a private cremation at the Hindu Crematorium.

We thank you all for your kind words and the affection you have shown us as we bear this great loss.

May God rest his soul in eternal peace.

We thank God as we celebrate the life of Alice Wanjiru Maina who went to be with Lord on 6th March, 2021, after a short Illness bravely borne. She was a business lady in Gikomba Market.

Daughter of the late Peter Chege and the late Phylis Muthoni Chege. Daughter-in-law of Nellius Wangui and the late Hosea Muturi Mahuthu. Beloved Wife of Johnson Maina (formerly of Kenya Meteorological Department). Devoted Mother of Erickson Muturi, Peter Chege and Nelly Wangui. Adoring Grandmother of Nataniel Kibe, Janis Wanjiru and Israel Karuku. Mother-in-law of Hazel Waithira Muturi. Sister-in-law of Faith Wairimu. Sister of Irungu, Kinuthia, Njeri, Kagwi, Waithira, Nyambura, Antony Mwangi, Rogers Maina and Carol Kanja. Sister-in-law of Esther, Njoki, Zabit, Kariuki, Pauline, Joan and Kuria.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Referral hospital Funeral Home (KUFH), Nairobi, on Friday 12/03/2021, at 8.00am for the funeral service and thereafter burial at her rural home in Muranga, Kangema, lyego, Githunguri Village from 10.00am.
