We announce the passing on of Karen Omesa Maranga, formerly of Nakuru East Primary School (Nakuru) which occurred on 21st November, 2020.

Beloved daughter of the late Dr. Nelson Ondimu and Bethsheba Ondimu of lbacho. Step-daughter of Mama Esther and the late Rachel Nyakweya. Daughter-in-law of Aristarico Maranga and Jemaima Bonareri. Beloved wife of the late Stanely Omesa Maranga, formerly of Egerton University. Mother of the late Dorine, Griffin, Vivian and Suprian. Grandmother of Dorielle, Karen and Stanely Omosa.

Mother-in-law of Joseph Omosa. Korera of the late Benedict Obae and Lucia Nyaboke, Sister of Margaret, Grace, the late George, Bwari, the late Teresa, Tom, Stephen, Millicent and Mobisa, Zipporah, the late Bob, the late Jessica, Janet (USA), Alex and Jack. Sister-in-law of Joseph, Martha, the late George, Vane, Prof. Ken (USA), Benard, Winnie, Evanciah, Anna, Mangaa, Metrine, Machogu, Janet (USA), Caren, Mayaka, Lydia, Tom, Raphael, Alice, Peter, Everline, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Gekonde, Risper. Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Lanet, Nakuru.

Service will be on Tuesday 1st at Great News Church from 2.00pm. The cortege leaves Nakuru War Memorial Funeral home on Wednesday 2nd December, 2020 at 4:00am for burial at Masimba, Masaba Sub-county, Kisii County.

Joseph Matu Kiboi

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Joseph Matu Kiboi, after a long illness.

Husband of Margaret Wabera and Margaret Njoki. Father of Esther Wairimu, Michael Iregi, the late Stephen Karuku, Grace Muchiru, Linus Gichuki, Nicholas Iregi, Eunice Wanjiku, Keneth Maina, Evah Nduta, Robert Gichuki and Dorothy Wangari. Son of the late Meshack Kiboi and the late Isabella Ngima. Brother of the late Linus GIchuki, Evah Nduta, the late Christopher Githae, Hellen Gathoni, Alice Wangu and David Muraguri. Grandfather of many children.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his residence, Kiriko village.

The cortege leaves Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina on tomorrow Tuesday December 1st, 2020 at 8.00am. Burial follows thereafter at his home Kiriko, Ruguru Location, Mathira West sub county, Nyeri County, starting 11.00am.

Hon. Justus Murunga Makokha

 December, 1960 – 14th November, 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of the Honourable Makokha Justus Murunga (MP Matungu Constituency). Hon. Murunga passed on at St Mary’s Hospital in Matungu on Saturday, 14th November 2020.

Hon. Murunga previously  worked at Mumias Sugar Company and Philips Kenya, as an accountant. He also served at The Kenya Assemblies of God and later the Embakasi Ranching where his hard work and commitment saw him rise to the rank of a Director until 2017, when he was elected to Parliament to represent the people of Matungu Constituency, whom he served with commitment and diligence until his demise.

Son of the late Silas Makokha and Asha Kutekha of Matungu Constituency. Brother of the late Benson Nandwa, the late Florence Kweyu Reuben Makokha and Dorcas Lanya. He is survived by his wives Grace Masitsa Murunga and Christabel Amunga Murunga. Father of Evangeline Akinyi, Eugene Murunga, Pauline Murunga, Joyner Murunga, Eurelia Khamwalitsa, Verah Murunga, Doreen Wileta, Talia Murunga, Maricella Ebenezer and Sonia Murunga. A doting Grandfather of Bubbles Mbala, Tanisha Mwaisha, Marivella Mutheu and Alazina Neema. Father-in-law of Donald Mwachofi, Bruce Matte, Ronald Mutwiri, Festas Mwanzia and Naciline Kendi.

Family, friends and many others whose lives he touched are meeting daily at his home in Utawala, Nairobi for fellowship and burial arrangements.

A requiem mass will be held on Thursday, 3rd December, 2020 at ACK St. Stephen, Jogoo Road from 2.00pm. There will be a memorial service on Friday, 4th December 2020 at his residence in Makunda, Matungu Constituency at 10am.

The burial will take place on Saturday, 5th December, 2020 at his home in Makunda Village, Matungu Constituency.

The family of the late Hon. Justus Makokha Murunga wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to The Government of Kenya and in particular, the Parliamentary Service Commission for the support accorded to the family during this difficult period.

Husband of Beatrice Achieng Murende (Former MCA Homabay County Assembly). Son of the late Mathayo Ong’injo Okelo and Late Catherine Awuor. Father of Kenneth Brayan Onyango (VAAL Real Estate), Mathews Okelo Onginjo (OAG), Jacob Opiyo Ong’injo (NSSF), Ayub Mandela Ong’injo (Parliament) and Pauline Valerie Ong’injo (blight Solar).

Grandfather of Mitchelle, Sean, Kyle, Kelly, Kendra, Neville, Alexi, Russell, Annabell, Mahlon and Gael. Brother of Late Mary Okal, Hon Salome Awino, Late Samson Ong’injo and Dan Tabu Ong’injo. Step Brother of Late Eliud Okello, Alfred Ong’injo, James Odhiambo, John Ong’injo, Jonathan Owiro, Late Kefa Ong’injo, S. J. Okello among others. Cousin of The Choka’s and The Owiro’s. Father in law of Judith Agong’, Caroline Oranga and Irene Achieng.

The body arrives home for burial on 4th December, 2020 at his home in Homabay County, Lambwe, Ogongo Sub Location.

Son of Late Gasper Ndegwa Kinyua and Late Consolata Nduth Ndegwa. Husband to Catherine Njoki Thuo. Loving father to Elizabeth Nduta and Dr. Ndegwa Thuo Steven. Brother of Late Hannah Mwangi, Late Hellen Nyokabi, Late Christopher Ndegwa, Stephanie Wangui Kabaria, Francis Njuguna Ndegwa, Ancieta Wambui, Benjamin Manji Ndegwa, Peter Maina Ndegwa, Grace Wakanyi Mwangi, Jusepha Waitherero Kinyua. The Funeral Service will be held at MCK Amiraki Church Kianjai, on Friday 4th December 2020 at 11.00 AM. He will later on be laid to rest at his home in Machaku Village home at 2.00PM.

Father of Consela Nkirote Ochieng (UK), the late Godwin Kimathi, Johnston Muriuki (Meru), Kendi Sorensen (Nairobi), Johh Linturiri (MOH, Meru) Judith Kathure (KNH, Nairobi), Diana Mauwa (Eldoret). Brother of Karuta Mungiria, Josphine Kambura and Mirriam Nkui. Step-son of Mwamkui and Karimi. Son in-law of the late Gerald and Esther Minyori. The cortege leaves Consolata Mission Hospital Nkubu on 2nd December 2020 at 8.30am for a requiem service at MCK Kalithiria Church, at 9.00am. The cortege will then proceed to his home where it will be laid to rest.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Evanson Mwangi Kihumba, formerly of Kenya Railways.

Beloved husband of Hon. Lucy Nyambura Kihumba of Menengai West Nakuru. Father of the late Lydia Wambui, the late Anthony Kihumba, Eric Wanjema and Susanne Wanjiru. Son of late Kihumba Kiiru and the late Margaret Wambui Kihumba.

Grandfather of Lisa Wanjiku Njagi, Audrey Nyambura Njagi, Peter Githiri, Kena Marubu and Christian Mwangi Wanjema. Brother of Joseph Ndungu Kihumba, Jane Wairimu Njuguna, Njenga Kihumba, and Hannah Njeri Gicharu. Son-in-law of the late Mwalimu Wanjema of Karatu in Gatundu.

The funeral will be on Thursday 3rd December. The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru, at 8.00am. The requiem mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, OlRongai, opposite Kabarak, at 10.00am followed by burial at his farm nearby.
