Son of the late Mathenge Kamaitha and Miriam Wangechi Mathenge. Son in-law to Phillip Kimuhu Karanja and the late Justina Wambui Kimuhu. Brother to The Late Eliaph Kamaitha, Eunice Wanjiru Gathungu, Julius Kiboi, Jackson Wanjohi, Loise Wangui Nderi, Mary Nyokabi, Esther Nyawira Maina, Jane Wothaya Njiri, Stephen Ndungu, Peter Gitahi, Joseph Ndiritu, The Late Eliud Gichuki, Charles Kamaitha, John Wambugu Nancy Wambui, Sarah Nyamachohi Nganga, Duncan Kamaitha, Grace Kirigo And Samuel Mbatia. Grandfather to Jason Mutua Mbugua, Michelle Muthoni Mbugua, Jayden Gitahi Munyua. Brother-In-Law, cousin, uncle to Many.

Funeral arrangement/prayers shall be held at PCEA Church, Kahawa West on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October 2020 at 6pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta National Hospital Farewell Home on Thursday 22nd October 2020 at 7am for the burial at his home in Ndugamano, Tetu, Nyeri County from 11am.

Son of David Njuguna Wang’ang’a and Mrs Purity Wangari Njuguna of Olive Inn. Brother to Garnet Wambui of Pride Center, Nairobi. Grandson of Peter Kaiba and late Grace Wambui of Murunyu, Engashura and the late Zechariah Gacheru and Mary Wanuna of Kianganda, Othaya. Nephew of Kaiba, Bishop Kimani, Wanjiru, Wanja, late Muiruri, Njoroge, Gitau, Wamuyu, Irungu, Wambui, Wangechi, Wairimu, Wanjiku, Wacuka, Wanjiru among others. Cousin to Gathukia, Peter, Mwenjera, Naomi, Ken, Carol, Wambui, Njeri, Eric, Junior, Soni, Kevin, Mathenge among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his parent’s home at Olive Inn, Kiamunyi at 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Nakuru War Memorial Mortuary on Friday 23rd October 2020 for a funeral service at Nakuru Show Ground. Burial site will be communicated later.

Mother-in-law to Nancy, Mary, Zipporah, Millicent, Beatrice, Magdalene, the late Maina Ndung’u, Kareithi, Mutahi, Miriam and Grace. She is survived by several grandchildren and great-grand children.

The cortege leaves Outspan Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M for the final resting ceremony and burial at the family home in Karuthi Sub-location, Othaya Sub-county, Nyeri County on Saturday, 24th October 2020.

With deep sorrow, we regret to announce the passing away of Prof Mwangi Wa Githumo of Kamune Village, Kamacharia sub-location, Muranga County. Prof Wa Githumo passed away on Friday October 9, 2020 at the Nairobi Hospital.

Professor Mwangi Wa Githumo was the husband of Irene Wangeci Mwangi and father of Adora Mwangi, Andre Itote Mwangi and Lulu Mwangi Mupfumbu. He was the father-in-law to Alonzo Jones and Walter Tanyaradzwa Mupfumbu. He was grandfather to Zakia Jada Jones, Zoe Desiree Jones; Nakai Victoria Mupfumbu, Itai Alistair Mupfumbu. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Wacera Githumo and the late Githumo Ndungu He was the son-in-law of the late Ayub and Mrs Ndiang’ui of Aguthi location, Nyeri County. He was the brother of Simon Muturi Githumo and brother-in-law to Karen Eliamani and the late Andrew Gathemia, Ruth Shem, Reuben Theuri, Priscilla Wambaire, Jemima Kyale and Miriam Munyenye.

Professor Mwangi had an illustrious teaching career which saw him teach in the United States of America at the Montclair State University and in Kenya at the University of Nairobi and the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton.

In view of the need to observe health protocols as defined against COVID- 19, close friends and relatives are invited to participate in a rolling fundraising event at which they will be able to sign the condolence book. This will take place at the Old Sanctuary at Nairobi Central SDA Church between the hours of 3.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday October 22, 2020. The main fundraising session will start at 5.30pm. The condolence book will thereafter be at the family residence.

A memorial service was conducted on Monday October 26, 2020 at the Nairobi Central SDA Church, Milimani Road.

The funeral for the late Professor Mwangi wa Githumo will take place at the Langata Cemetery on the rescheduled date of Thursday November 5, 2020. A service by the graveside will commence at 11.00am.

Doting grandfather to Nadia Mich Ochilo. Son of the late Walter Oloo Aduro and the late Councilor Eunice Adikinyi Oloo of Kimira Akoko, West Alego – South Sakwa, Awendo Division, Migori County.
