With deep sorrow, we regret to announce the passing away of Prof Mwangi Wa Githumo of Kamune Village, Kamacharia sub-location, Muranga County. Prof Wa Githumo passed away on Friday October 9, 2020 at the Nairobi Hospital.

Professor Mwangi Wa Githumo was the husband of Irene Wangeci Mwangi and father of Adora Mwangi, Andre Itote Mwangi and Lulu Mwangi Mupfumbu. He was the father-in-law to Alonzo Jones and Walter Tanyaradzwa Mupfumbu. He was grandfather to Zakia Jada Jones, Zoe Desiree Jones; Nakai Victoria Mupfumbu, Itai Alistair Mupfumbu. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Wacera Githumo and the late Githumo Ndungu He was the son-in-law of the late Ayub and Mrs Ndiang’ui of Aguthi location, Nyeri County. He was the brother of Simon Muturi Githumo and brother-in-law to Karen Eliamani and the late Andrew Gathemia, Ruth Shem, Reuben Theuri, Priscilla Wambaire, Jemima Kyale and Miriam Munyenye.

Professor Mwangi had an illustrious teaching career which saw him teach in the United States of America at the Montclair State University and in Kenya at the University of Nairobi and the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton.

In view of the need to observe health protocols as defined against COVID- 19, close friends and relatives are invited to participate in a rolling fundraising event at which they will be able to sign the condolence book. This will take place at the Old Sanctuary at Nairobi Central SDA Church between the hours of 3.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday October 22, 2020. The main fundraising session will start at 5.30pm. The condolence book will thereafter be at the family residence.

A memorial service was conducted on Monday October 26, 2020 at the Nairobi Central SDA Church, Milimani Road.

The funeral for the late Professor Mwangi wa Githumo will take place at the Langata Cemetery on the rescheduled date of Thursday November 5, 2020. A service by the graveside will commence at 11.00am.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden demise of Pauline Muthoni Nyamu, an employee of Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), Wilson Airport on 14th October, 2020.

She was the daughter of Elias Nyamu and Grace Mukwanjeru. Mother to Jayden Mutungi and Baby Wilmer. Sister to Daris Mugendi, Peninah, Fridah Mukiri, Jamrick Mwenda, Gloria Karimi, Joseph Mutwiri and Yvonne Mwende. Sister-In-Law to Pauline Mugendi.

Aunt to Bethy Gatwiri, Grace Kananu, Adrian Obanga, Mark Munene, Kaithyn Gatugi, Abigail Mumbi and Hayden Mwenda.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University (K.U) Funeral Home on Wednesday 21st October, 2020 at 7.00a.m followed by a funeral service at her home in Kanwa Chuka,Tharaka- Nithi County.

Loving husband to Margaret Ochieng` Oloo (formerly of J.K.U.AT), and adored father to Dr. Stephen Oloo (Kalamazoo College, Michigan — USA), Stephanie Oloo—Ochilo (Jotun Kenya), Nicholas Ochilo (Saruni Services), and Edwin Oloo (HIVOS Foundation). Doting grandfather to Nadia Mich Ochilo. Son of the late Walter Oloo Aduro and the late Councilor Eunice Adikinyi Oloo of Kimira Akoko, West Alego – South Sakwa, Awendo Division, Migori County. Son in law to the late Wilson Ong’idi, the late Silmena Ong’idi, and Mary Ong’idi. Sangi to the late Jonathan Magero and Herman Kangeta. Nyawana to Pastor Paul Ochilo and Lucy Ochilo. Brother in law to Aggrey Ondiegi Ong’idi, Risper Magero, Jemima Kangetta, the late Jashon Ong’idi, Gephas Ringoma, Irene Odhiambo (MTRH, Eldoret), Janet Ouma (Njoro), the late Ben Oduor Juma, and Dorothy Juma. Cousin to Wilson Odero Ohulo (Gem Magari), Florence Ochieng’, Agunda Ochanda, George Samba (South Africa), Constance Ouma (MM Shah Primary School, Kisumu), Roselyn Arama (Oyugi -Ogango Girls’ Secondary School), Herbert Ogutu (USA), among many others. Nephew to the late Daniel Ohulo (Gem Magari), the late Grace Opiyo (Alego Gombe), the late Frederick Ochanda Osodo (Rang’ala Upanda) and the late Jane Amata (Gem Lundha), and an Uncle to many.

Funeral fundraising will be held on Tuesday, 20th October 2020 at CITAM Valley Road from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Contributions are welcome through Mpesa Paybill no.8018587 (Ochieng Oloo Funeral Fund), with your name as the Account Number.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at CITAM Karen starting at 12.00 (noon).

The Cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday, 23rd October 2020 for his home; Kimira Akoko, West Alego – South Sakwa,Awendo subcounty – Migori County. Burial will take place on Saturday, 24th October 2020, starting at 8.00am.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Margaret Nyaredo Obath (Sister) which occurred on Saturday 17 October 2020 at The Nairobi Hospital. Until her death, Margaret was an employee of Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

She was the daughter of the late Samba Gamaliel Obath and the late Christabel Adhiambo Obath of Gem Wagai. She was the beloved sister to James and Jane Musita, Patrick and Terry Obath, The late John and Pamela Obath, George Obath, Eng Meshack and Mary Care Kidenda, Patrick Kondo and the late Mildred Obath-Kondo, Florence Obath, the late Stephen Obath, Irene Obath, Christian and Lilian Samba and Geoffrey Obath. Margaret Nyaredo Obath (Sister) She was an aunty to Pancy, Andy, Zecky and Grace, Brenda, Cindy and Lindsay, Linda, Leon, Felix and Diana and Marvin, Unique, Rachel, Gideon and Yvonne, Simon and Sheila, Beth, Nick and Blake , Imelda, Sharon, Nigel, Wayne, Christabel and Deborah and John. Grandmother to Tamara, Ayanna, Zuria, Andrew, Adonis and Meshack Kidenda Jr.

Margaret was a loving cousin and a friend to many.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 24th October 2020 in a private ceremony.

A memorial service will be held in Nairobi on a date to be announced later.

The cortege leaves KUTRRH Memorial Funeral Home on Friday 23/10/2020 at 7.00 a.m for mass at Gikondi Catholic Parish in Mukurweini. Thereafter burial will take place at her Kabii farm at Gikondi in Mukurweini, Nyeri County.

Brother of Julius, Rhesillah, Janepher (Farmers), Wilfrida (TSC) and Alex (KETRACO). Brother-in-law of Christabel and Caroline. Cousin to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his residence in Utawala (Kijani Court). There will be a fundraiser on Sunday 18th October 2020 at his home at 2.00pm.

The cortege leaves Mater Misericordia Hospital mortuary on Thursday 22nd October 2020 at 8.00am. Thereafter, there will be a church service at Holy Spirit Bulimbo Catholic Church, Matungu Sub County, Kakamega County on the same day. After the service the cortege leaves for his ancestral home in Mulukusi Village along Bungoma-Mumias Road. The late Luke will be laid to rest on Saturday 24th October 2020.

Father in law to Alex Ngoima. Brother to the laze Stephen Nyoike, Lazarus and Victoria Njeri Mwangi, Simon and Antonina Wanjiru Njuguna and the late Titus and Jane Murimi. Brother in law to Julius Maina, the late Daniel Wainaina, Lucy Mwaura, Elias Chege and Jeremiah Kamau. He was a loving uncle and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting dairy at his home in Gatanga.

Cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home Thika (Kabati) at 8:30am. The funeral will be on Thursday, 22nd October 2020 from 11.00am at his Gatanga home in Murang’a County.

Loving husband of Hellen Kabura Maina of Kinamba, Naivasha. Father of Peter Kaguara (Naivasha), Nazarene Muthoni (Nation Media Group), Anne Mercy Njoki (Nairobi), the late Francis Macharia and Jocelyne Juliet Wangechi (Nairobi). Grandfather of Nicolene Nyambura, Davine Wanini and Jelani Kamweti, among others. Brother of the late Githaiga Kabera, the late Kiai Kaguara, the late Julietta Wangechi, Christina Wanjiru (Wandia) and Consolata Wanja. He was a brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, friend and mentor to many.

Burial arrangements are taking place daily at his Kinamba and Gituru homes from 6.00 P.M.

The cortege will leave North Kinangop Catholic Hospital Mortuary for burial on Thursday, 22nd October 2020 at 10.00am followed thereafter by a burial service at his Gituru farm, New Karati, Naivasha where he will be laid to rest.

He was husband to Edna Boyani and father to Damian Ogoti and Ashlyn Ogoti. Beloved son of Teresa Obiero and Richard Obiero of Kamulu and Kitale. Doting brother to Sylvia Manoti Gimona (Amref), Edwin Obiero (Absa), and Geoffrey Obiero (GDC). Brother in-law to Jack Gimona (KeRRA), Naserian Pertet, and Evaline Akelo. Grandson to the late Florence Nyaboke and the late Ogeto Kiage, the late Francis Mogusu and Hebisiba Mogusu. Burial will be on 23/10/20 at his residence in Kamulu. The body lies at Kenyatta University Mortuary.
