Appreciation

We the family of the late Dr. Wallace Kahugu, wish to express our sincere appreciation to all who prayed, supported and stood with us during this difficult time. We are humbled by the overwhelming support given to us by our wider family, friends, colleagues and the church.

Special thanks to all the doctors for the excellent medical care they provided, including Dr. Charles Kariuki, Dr Gerald Moniz and Dr. Munyu Waweru at the Nairobi Hospital and Dr. Anthony Gikonyo, Dr. Dan Gikonyo and Dr. Christopher Muriithi at the Karen Hospital, all the nursing staff for their dedicated care, the CEO’s of both hospitals for their personal attention and Dad’s personal assistants Kennedy Mweke and Isaac Gichia for their attentive support.

We are grateful to the Nairobi Chapel and New Breed City Chapel, for presiding over the prayer meetings and Reverend Gichinga, for conducting the memorial and funeral services. We appreciate the honour bestowed upon Dad by the medical fraternity during these services. Our heartfelt thanks to the funeral committees in Nairobi and Nyeri, for their hard work and for ensuring such an honourable send off for our patriarch. May the Almighty God bless you.

Cousin of Abel Mayavi, Barasa Mayavi, William Muhuyi, Stanley, Hezron, Soita, Norah, Nechesa, Gladys Anyika. Nephew of late Salome Kwalanda, Late Edward Shitanda, Late Mukangai Sasala, Paulo Sasala, Dickson Shamalla and Lonyi Savatia. Brother-in-law of Benjamin Sabuni, Joseph Barasa (BM Security), Isaac Muyavila, Luke Lianda, Jones, Catherine, Late Susan and Maximilla. Father- in-law of John Okeyo and Evelyn Wanjiru, Son-in-law of Shem Anyambu, and late Mama Hezina. Uncle of Evans, Robai, Khayecha, Kevin, Magdaline, Linda, Lewis, Santrine, Hillary, Peter Mayavi, Silas, Mark,Tamata, and Joel Anyika. Grandfather of Seth, Alison, and Kyle and a friend to many.

The cortege leaves Kakamega County Referral Hospital Mortuary on Friday 16th October, 2020 for  viewing and burial on 17th October, 2020 at his home Matioli Village, Malaya Sub-County, Kakamega County.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of elder Daniel Micah Onyiego on 9th October 2020 after a short illness.

Son of the late Senior Chief Micah Onyiego and the late Mama Rebeccah Monchari. Loving husband of Mama Jane Nyakerario Onyiego. Father of Micah, late Omuga, Osoro, Peterson, Hellen, Boyani and Juma. Brother of late Nyang’au, late Ombwori, late Jemimah, late Esther, Mokaya, Jeremiah and Leah. Cousin of the Ondeus and Ezekiels. Father in-law of Felister, Lilian, Oliviah, Emily and Kerubo. Brother-in-law of Nyakundi. Korera of Angwenyi, Manyololi, Lelei, Matianyi, Onyancha and Atuya. Uncle of the late Dr Omani, Bosire (UK), Dr. Onyiego, Joshua, Bethwel and the Micahs. He left behind 15 grandchildren.

The main fundraising is scheduled on Monday 19th October 2020 from 2pm at his home in Kisii County, Mwamonari location, Rioma Sub-Location, Mwamwebi village.

Shosh of Kangai, Gatwiri, Nancy; Kaithi, Muchai, Gaceri, Gakii; Muthomi, Glory; Gatiiria, Mawira; Ian, Rodgers; Mureithi, Makena, Munene; McBrian, Kendi, Queenjoy; Gitonga, Wanja; Alden, Wendo, Mahiri, Malika. The cortege leaves Nkubu Hospital at 10am on Monday 19th October 2020 followed by a funeral service at her home in Tubui village,Tunyai —Tharaka Nithi County.

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing on of Senior Nurse Yunia Ingutia Maobe Shipiri that occurred on 12th October 2020 at Coptic Hospital, Nairobi. Member, Church of God Mariakani and Mwihila and Chairlady Nangulu Sisterhood.

Daughter of the late Filip, Flora and Felisia Ingutia of Butere. Daughter-in-law to the late Musa, Rebecca and Alice Shipiri of Mundoberwa, Khwisero subcounty. Wife of the late William Mackinnon Shipiri. Dotting mother to Ken, Flora, Philip, Moses & Lillian, and Alex & Maria Shipiri. Many others considered her mama, including Dan Masiga and Damaris Atiti. Sister to Fanice Masiga, Augustine Khamalla, Risper Nyona, Mary Chesoni, Betty Ogessi, Elizabeth Olembo, Fred Ingutia and Susan Ingutia among others. Grandmother to Nichole Chesoni, Wendy Emali, Jayden Shipiri, Saya Shipiri, Yunibet Shipiri, Velma, Rebecca among many other grandchildren. Great grandmother to many.

Family and friends are meeting at Woodley Estate, Nairobi and Mwihila, Khwisero.

A memorial Church service will be held on Thursday 15th October 2020 at Mariakani Church of God, South B at 11am, followed by prayers at her Woodley Estate home at 4pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral home on Friday 16th October, to depart by KQ656 arriving at Kisumu International Airport at 1420hrs where she will be received by family and friends and transported to Mwihila, Khwisero for a church service at the Mwihila Church of God.

Burial will take place at her home on Saturday 17th October at Mwihila, Khwisero, Kakamega County

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at IBIS 2 hotel Karatina starting 5.00 pm for burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina on Friday 16th October 2020, at 9.00am. Funeral service and burial thereafter at her husband’s home, Kabiruini village, near shopping centre, Mathira West sub county, Nyeri County.

The cortege will be flown to Kisumu from Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on 12th October 2020. There shall be a church service at Power of Jesus Around the World Church, Kisumu on 15th October 2020 at 1pm. The body will be laid to rest on Friday 16th October 2020 in Kokal Village, Agoro West, North East Nyakach, Kisumu County.

The cortege leaves Christermarrianne Mission hospital Kisii on 15/10/20 for reception mass at St Theresas Mother House Chapel.

The funeral and burial mass will take place on Friday 16/10/20 at St Theresas Catholic Church Asumbi Parish at 10.00am and there after burial at Asumbi Cementary.

Grandfather of Moraa, Deno, Mutethia, Mike and Samjuniour. Brother of the late Elizabeth Nchekei, Sabina Gauku, Colleta Kitito, Rosemary Kanungu, Inyasia Kariu, Benedicta Gatune, Charity Kuri, late Michael Chiburugu, Cassiano Kailikia (Ministry of Education) and Grace Nduru. Father-in-law to Ombati and Mwika.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Saturday 17th October 2020 at 5am for a funeral service at Centre Prayer House -Mikinduri. Thereafter burial and reception at his home Athwana-Mikinduri.
