It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Janet Kanyua Njongoro on 9th Oct 2020.

She was the loving daughter of the late Daniel Thaara and late Rebecca Karerema, both from Kiang’ondu village in Chuka- Meru.

Janet was the beloved wife of Michael Njongoro Kiiyuru. She was mother of Eric and Joycelin, Lilian & Alex, Joan & Paul, Christine & Moses and Cosmas Munene (UK). She was sister to the late Idah Samuel, Late Juliet Nderi, late Charles Gitari and late Robert Mutegi plus other step brothers and sisters. Janet’s grandchildren are Natalie, Alvin, Megan, Ryan, Daniela, Nathan, Sharlene, Austine, Michelle, Nigel, MaliaRose, Carol & Dorcas Wangui.

Friends & relatives are meeting at her home daily in Kambara and also at All saints Cathedral on Wednesday 14th &Thursday 15th October from 6.00PM.

There will be mass at her home in Kambara near Kambui mission to celebrate her life on the 14th & 18th October at 3PM.

A requiem mass will be held at blessed sacrament church in Buru buru phase 3 on the 16th October at 2.00 PM. The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral home on the 19th October at 8.30 AM for funeral service at St. Teresa of Child Jesus Mitahato Catholic Church at 11.00 AM.

Son of the late Mzee Kiiru Chomba and the late Hannah Wambui Kiiru.

Brother to the late Jane Mukami Ngugi, the late Wellington Chomba, Julius Chomba (USA), Joseph Njuguna (USA), Mrs. Margret Murage (USA), the late Newton Gichuru, Lenny Chomba (Chomba Sounds), Kariuki Kiiru (USA) & the late Kamau Kiiru. In law to Mr. Stephen Njoroge & Mrs. Cecilia Njoroge. He was an uncle and grandfather to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Elgon View Avenue 2 on Bishop Muge road at 6pm and at his father’s home in Maili Nne from 6pm.

It is with humble acceptance that we announce the demise on Sunday 4th October of Francis Njagi Mvungu, formerly of Barclays Bank of Kenya.

Francis was the loving son of the late Nazario Mvungu and the late Hannah Njeri, Rukira Embu County. He was husband of Purity Muthoni Njagi (State Dept. for Housing Nairobi). Father of Caroline Njeri Karanja (Aventus), Rita Wakina (USA), Angela Njoki (Microsoft) and Mark Timothy Mwenda. Father in Law of Anthony Karanja Kabiru (Mastercard Foundation). Grandfather of Jabali Kiama Karanja. Brother of the late Silvanus Njiru, C.P. Nyaga, the late Leonard Njeru, John Mwaniki, Patrick Njue, Jacinta Njoki, Jane Ngari, Margaret Muriuki, Mary Mvungu and Teresia Maringa. Son-in-law of the late Alexandar Mwenje Kang’ethe and Naomi Mwenje of Kianjokoma Embu. Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Brother in Law and Friend to many.

Meetings are going on in the Rukira family home every day starting from 3.00 pm. Meetings will also be held at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi on Wednesday 14th,Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2020, starting from 5.30 pm.

The cortege leaves Tenri Funeral Home, Embu County on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at 10.00 for funeral service and burial at the Rukira family home.

Father of Mary Ndegwa (MA, USA), Dr. Anne Kimani (PA, USA), Christine Kimani (PA, USA), Joan Kimani, and Fidelis Kimani both of Kahawa. Grandfather of Mitchelle Ndegwa, Jean Ndegwa, Jeremy Ndegwa, Ruthie Njagi, Kimani Kangethe, Ashley Wanjiku, Nicholas Kimani, Sofia Njoki, Jamaal Mohammed, Ismail Mohammed, Halima Mohammed, and Leyla Mohammed.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home (KU Referral Hospital) at 7.00am on Thursday, 15th October 2020 for Requiem Mass at St, Joseph Catholic Church, Kahawa Sukari at 9.00am and thereafter for burial at the family farm in Kiamwangi, Gatundu South.

He was the second born of Mzee Salatiel Mwewe Matayo and the late Jane Hawayu, brother of the late PriscaTunda, Patrick Komora, a teacher at Marufano Secondary, Lydia Gullu, Jacob Mwewe, Kezia Mwewe, Yosiah Mwewe, Maria Salatiel and David Mwewe. Brother in law of Raphael Wario (Retired County Director Lamu County), Lina Hagayana, Edward Jillo, Allan Badaso, Pastor Haro, Patison Shujaa, Rev Genatone Funana, Hiribae Tufani. He was also brother in law of the late Stephen Shari, Jeremiah Gullu and Nahason Majaliwa. Grandfather of Desmond Mwewe, Edward Matayo Mwewe and Matayo Edward Mwewe.

The cortege leaves star Mortuary Malindi on Friday 16th Oct 2020 at 12 noon towards Wema, Tana River County. Burial will be on Saturday 17th Oct 2020.

He was brother to the late Gilbert Kibata and Damaris Kibata, Grace Njoki and Harry Gakuya, Clement Karo and Alice Muthoni, Rose Wambui Kebatta, Abram Gichanga and Wanjira Wairegi.

The cortege leaves Jocham Hospital Mortuary, Mombasa on Thursday 15.10.20 at 9: 1 5am for cremation at the Hindu crematorium at 10.00am.

Sister in-law of Rose Nyawira, Eunnah Wangu, Anne Kabugo and Hellene Wanjiru, Winfred Kinya, Josephat Kerema and Carlin Gatwiri.
