She was the mother of Harriet, Joyce, late Bilha, Jessica, John, Florence, Billy, Livingstone and Julia. Mother in-law to the late Clement Masinjila, Byroze Lubanga, the late Dr Peter Hagembe, Michael Sande, the late Josephine Chemao Aswani, William Wanjala, Alice Ananda (Kaimosi), Jannet Aswani of Juba and Paul Bahati. The grandmother to Alice (USA), Daniel, Deborah (Switzerland), lmisa, Emali, Dinah (USA), Nixon (Kericho), Nyikuli, Orlando (USA), Joel (USA), Fridah (USA), Fridah (Ghana), Christine (daisy), Selina, Harriet, Margaret Sande, Briant, Rita Wanjala (NRB), Fridah Wanjala,Fridah Sande, Mike (Busia), Fridah Aswani (NRB), Sheldine Wanjala (NRB), Shelton Mugisa, Shelton E. Aswani, Shelton Ananda, James, Shelton wa Aswani, Joseph Aswani, Brinly Ananda,Yosiah Ayodi, Bekam Aswani, Owen Aswani and Doris. Aunt to many including Pearl Asila, Rachael, Tom, Dr. Eshitera etc and a friend to many.

She left in her heavenly abode on Monday 21st September 2020 at 11:20pm.

The cortege leaves Coptic funeral home on Monday 28th September 2020 at 10:00am to Ekambuli COG for requiem mass and later to her home at Ekambuli Village. The funeral will be held on Tuesday 29th September 2020.

There was a memorial service on 25/09/2020 at AIC Kao la Amani.

The Cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital at 8am for funeral service and burial today Saturday, 26th September 2020 at his home in Kapsoya, Limo Farm.

There was a fundraising service on 24/09/2020 at 2.00pm at his home at Limo farm.

Son of Rev. Melab M’Mbaya Khadi-National Women Director; RAG (KENYA). Husband of Valery Musitsa Misigo and Noeureen Nalwanga. Father of Branice Khangu of Kenya Navy-Mombasa, Braxily Khacli, Lampard Misigo Kavuludi, Swilson Davies Misigo, Sewart Kavuludi, Susan Sambaya, Hugochavez Siali and Seangavine Kaane. Brother of Bonface Kitungutu, Kizito Akhonya, Nelson M’Mbaya, Mildred M’Mbaya and Maryline M’Mbaya.

The cortege leaves St. Michael Mortuary-Kiminini on Monday 28th September, 2020 at 11.00 am. Burial will take place on Tuesday 29th September,2020 from 8.00am at his home, Mutoni Village, Matunda Sub-Location, Nzoia Location, Likuyani Sub-County, Kakamega County.

A TRIBUTE

Chief Principal from 1994 – 2020

Dr Harbhajan Singh Gill passed away on Thursday September 17, 2020 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi. At the time of his death, he was the Chief Principal at SCLP Samaj School & College in Nairobi. He has held this position since the establishment of the school in 1994.

Born in 1939, Dr H. S. Gill was one of the leading educationists in the country with a career spanning over 58 years. He has served as Head Teacher, Principal and Chief Principal for 42 years. He was the head of the following schools during his years of service: Guru Nanak Secondary School (1962), Meru Asian (1962 – 1965), Kitui High School (1965 – 1978), Jomo Kenyatta High School (1978 – 1994) and SCLP Samaj School & College (1994- 2020).

Among many of his former students are prominent personalities such as the former Vice President De. Kalonzo Musyoka, former Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga and the former Archbishop of the Anglican Church Rev. Dr. Benjamin Nzimbi. During his long and illustrious career, Dr. Gill was feted by leading organizations for his exemplary devotion to humanitarian services. The organizations that organized this work and feted him include: International Association of Lions Clubs (LCI), Universal Peace Federation (UPF), The United Graduate College & Seminary; USA, the Kenya Year Book 2013/2014 and SCLP Samaj Community (2019) for a life time Achievement Award – where he served as Chief Principal since its inception in 1994. Under his leadership, the school underwent tremendous growth with the student population rising from 27 in 1994 to over 3000 in 2020.

 

IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER

We pay tribute to an exceptional father, friend, educationist and mentor who served the school with insight, focus, love and dedication to the very last breath of his life. He was a great visionary leader who transformed the school from its humble origins in 1994 to a giant academic centre of excellence.

What we witness today is the sacrifice, hard work and deliberate effort of a guru who carefully chose and led a team of like-minded people in moulding the success of his students.

The most difficult task for anyone is to give a tribute to one of the greatest educationists of our time. Dr. H. S. Gill will be remembered as a very polished and focused school leader of his generation.

In a span of twenty-six years, he presided over the transformation of our institution to a modern and world class E-learning centre with a global reputation for top results in academics and co-curricular activities. His dedication, kindness, love for learners, steadfastness in achieving desired goals and spirited belief that every student has a window of opportunity to be successful has challenged and inspired all.

Loving son of Bishop Justus Bundi (Nkubu Synod) and Stella Bundi (Ng’ong’a Primary School). Cherished brother of Hopejoy Kendi and Emanuel Muthomi. Grandson of the late Misheck Miriti and Evelyn Miriti (Machikine) and late Solomon Nkanata and Elizabeth Nkanata (Chaaria). Nephew of late Mwirigi, Mwiti, late Bundi, Gakii, Catherine, Mary, Ruth, Kimathi, Gitonga, Muthugumi, Mutugi, Purity and Kagendo. Cousin of Kendi, Gatwiri, Kanana, Kirimi, Mutuma, Mwenda, Mugambi, Karwitha, Gitonga, Mwaki, Mwendwa, Mutugi, Faith, Daize, Polly, Hilda, Pamela, Ashtrond, Chris, Lordina, Linet, Newton, Nkatha among others. He is a great friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his parent’s residence in Mitunguu and at his uncle’s residence in Chaaria.

Our beloved Kim will be laid to rest on Tuesday 29th September 2020 at Machikine, South Imenti, Meru County. The funeral service will be held at MCK Ntemwene Church later graveside service at Machikine.

Kim, you are deeply loved and will be greatly missed!

She was a retired Principal /Proprietor of Imara Commercial College — Kakamega. Daughter of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Mbogori of Meru County, and wife of the Late Philemon Asudi Malova. Mother of the Late Christine, Sammy (Accountant — Wajir, and Wanja Ingosi. Sister of Karimi, Karema, Gacungu, Kageni (USA), Kagendo, Gitari, and Kirungara. A mother-in-law of the Late Caxton Ingosi and Esther Munabi. Grandmother of Garrilla, Joseph, and Sachill.

The cortege leaves Kakamega County Referral Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 25th September 2020 at 8.00am for a service at her home in Amalemba. Interment will be held on 26th September 2020 at Ludodo village in Matunda Kitale.

Brother of Anthony Nzioka,The late Jackson Mutuku, Lulea Mulwa, Jane Mbithe and Martha Kalondu. Son in-law of the Late Maloke Mkubwa and the late Agnes Nyambura. Brother in law of Hannah Nzurah, Margaret Mburwa, The late John Kandari, The late Muzeni Mbatha, and Peter Unduri. He was loving and caring grandpa of Brian, Ruth, Margaret, Justin, Stephanie, Annabel, Jayden and Fadhili. Loving and caring uncle of many.

His legacy of generosity, to the family and community was gratefully felt by all.
