Father of David Waweru Mbugua (KitsIe), Peter Wainaina (Lanet), Jane Wanjiru Maim (Ruiru), Mary Gathoni Kimani (Kabatini) and Joseph Wathiari (Nakuru). Father in law of Susan Wanjugu Waweru, Mary Wainaina and Beth Wamaitha Wathiari. Brother of the late Njambi Koigi, Leah Wambui, Racheal Wanpru Kiragu, Hannah Mukuhi Ngethe (Kitale), Ruth Njambi Earnest (Elburgon), the late Wathiari Waweru, Karanja Waweru and Ngigi Waweru. Grandfather of Mbugua’s, Njeri’s and others. Great grandfather of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home in Lanet Nakuru near Lanet Posta from 4pm for prayers and {lateral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral home on Friday 6th March, 2020 at 8am for funeral service and burial at his farm in Lanet Location near Lanet Police Post on the same day.

Daughter of the late Gabriel Mutiso lvita and Agnes Kavesu of Kivuuni Vilage, Kalongo Sub-location, Kikoko Location, Makueni County. Beloved wife of Dr. James Mwendwa Munyithya of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Department of Physics. Mother of Faith Mwende Andati (Mwea Agricultural Development Centre (MIAD)), Kennedy Mutuku (Trance Technologies, Thika), Carol Nthenya ((JKUAT), Agnes Mwendwa (JKUAT) and Jackline Mwendwa (Muthale Girls High School). She was a mother in law to Patrick Andati and Yvonne Wangeci. She was sister of Faustine Muthoka, Fredrick Nyamasyo, Mary Nduku and Ann Nthenya. She was a sister in law of John Mutua, Jane Ndunge, Muasya Munyithya, Angeline Musyawa, Annastacia Nthenya, Dorcas Mumo and Peter Kilonzo. She was blessed with three granddaughters: Michelle Mueni, Juliana Nthenya and Hailey Mueni.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Comfort Grill (former Swan Hotel in Juja town) from 530 PM and the family home in Mbiuni.

Burial will be held at her home on Saturday, 7th -March 2020 in Manzuva Village, Nyaanyaa Sub-location, Mbiuni Location, Mwala Sub-county, Machakos county.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her parents’ home in Siron, Marmanet for prayers and burial preparations.

The cortege leaves Pope Benedict Xvi Hospital Mortuary Nyahururu on Saturday 7/03/2020 at 8:00am and thereafter a burial service at her parents’ home in Swan village, Marmanet starting at 11:00am.

Husband of Mrs Betty Namshitu Mnene and father of Nogrecia Nangena (KALRO Kabete), Bernadette MKeghe (CaDPERP), Clementine Nashengena (M-Kopa Solar) and Hilda Asnat (Safari Brooks). Grandfather to William Leng’oloshi, James Mutula, Wilma Namshitu, Apia, Jane Namshitu, Aurthur Ngii and Justeen Rehema. Father in-law to Michael Mutula (Nation Media Group), John Kyalo (Ministry of Interior) and Paul Nyika.

The cortege leaves St Joseph Shelter of Hope, Voi to Taveta an 5/03/2020 at 9.00am for a mass at St Joseph Mukasa, Timbila parish after which there will be a procession to Kimala home for overnight stay. Burial will take place on Friday 6/03/2020 at his rural home in Kimala Mata subs-location, Taita Taveta County.

Brother to Patrick Wamae and Alyce Wachera, the late Stephen Muhuri, James Mwangi and Winrose Wanjiru; and uncle to Michelle Wamae ,Gregory Matu, Matu Jeffrey, Zoe Mumbi and Farah Gathoni.

Michael was a dear friend of many.

A memorial service will be held at on Thursday 12th March at St Austin’s Catholic Church Lavington, 12 Noon.
