We would like to announce the death of former Thika Mayor Douglas Kariuki Mundia after long illness bravely bourne.

Son of the late Mundia Muturi and the late Mary Njeri. Husband of the late Anne Gathoni, Margaret Ndanga, the late Mary Waithira and the late Prisillar Nyambura. Father of Isaac Munene, the late Peter Mundia, the late Samuel Chomba, Fredrick Chabi, George Gathirwa, Patrick Mundia, Faith Mumbi, Mary Wairimu, Lucy Njeri, David Gichia Catherine Wambui (USA), the late Edward Mungai, Gilbert Chomba, Mercy Njeri (USA), the late Dollah Nyambura, Joseph Mundia, Peter Njau,Alice Njeri and Elizabeth Wanjiku. Brother of the late Isaac Munene, George Gathirwa, the late Samuel Muturi, the late John Kogi, the late Eliud Muiru, the late Ngugi Mundia, Teresia Wagio, Michael Muturi, Franco Ndungu, the late Wairimu, the late Nyokabi and Nduta Gitau. Grandfather and great grandfather of many children.

Family and Friends are meeting at his Thika residence opposite Mku Main Campus Thika from 6pm daily.

There will be a meeting for friends today 21/02/2020 at Coconut Grill Thika for prayers and support.

There will be a memorial service at Thika Sub County stadium on Friday 28/02/2020 from 9 am to celebrate the life of Douglas Kariuki Mundia.

Memories of his limitless love, kindness and gentle spirit will linger in our hearts forever till we meet again.

Mother of Margaret Kamau, Harrison Kamau, Alice Munyiva, David Masai, the late Florence Wanjira, Mary Njeri, the late Martha Kamande, Judy Irungu, Poustine Waweru and Rose Mulandi. Mother-in-law to Racheal Kamau and Mary Masai. Sister-in-law to Eddah Gachukia and Hannah Wanyoike. Aunt to the Gachukia’s, Mutisya’s, Kimani’s, Muli’s, Kivuva’s, Kioko’s, Daudi’s, .Matires,. Gachukia’s, Wanyoike’s.

The body leaves Kenyatta University Funeral home at 8.00 am on Tuesday 25th February 2020, for the funeral service and burial from 11:00am, on the same day at her home Ndula Village, Kilimambogo, Thika.

He was a retired KRA Assistant Commissioner, Remission Debts Waiving and Board Execution, Current Board Chairman of KA-HUHO Secondary School and BOM Member of Kahuho Primary School.

Beloved son of the late Wilson Khaemba and the late Grace Namaemba Khaemba; Husband of Ernesta Malisa, loving father of Kenneth Khaemba, David Wabuke, Jackline Khaemba, Brian Khaemba, Janet Khaemba and Wilson Khaemba. Loving uncle of Edgar. Khaemba, Charles Khaemba and Fred. Brother of the late Henry Khaemba, Rosemary Nasimiyu, late Rosemary Nakhungu, the late Julius Wangila, George Wafula, the late Joyce Nekoye and the late Evanis Chilande.

There will be a memorial praise and worship service on Sunday 23RD February 2020 at ACK St James Church BuruBuru from 2pm.

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home on Thursday 27th February 2020, at 7AM for the funeral service at ACK Christ Church Nembure at 10AM; thereafter final interment will follow at her home in Gaturi South, Nembure sub-location, Embu County.
