We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing away of Santina Mary Muthoni Muriuki of Kenya Utalii College Nairobi.

She was the beloved daughter of Mr. Julius Mbaka Mukuru, and Mrs. Lenah Mbaka of Gakuuni Village, Tharaka Nithi County. She was the loving wife to the late Patrick Muriuki Muriungi, and Mother to Brian Muthomi Muriuki and Melisa Makena Muriuki. She was sister to the late Benjamin Mutembei, Osward Mugendi, Betty Kagwiria, Morgan Kirimi, Catherine Kawira, Annstella Gatwiri and Pamela Kathomi. Sister in-law to Samuel Mwenda, Purity Muthoni, Phyllis Kathambi, Godfrey Mwirigi and Erick Johnson. She was aunt to Royson, Brighton, Prince, Brenda, Alex, Kelvin, Kendi, Martin, Terrence, Collins, Mitchel, Collins, Kelvin, Caleb, Abigail and Meghan.

Family and Friends are meeting at their home, House Number M2 at Kenya Utalii Village along Thika Road, every evening from 6-8 p.m. for prayers and funeral arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at Parklands Baptist church on Thursday 27th February, 2020 from 10:00 am to celebrate the life of Santina.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Teaching Referral & Research Hospital Funeral Home on 28th February, 2020 for burial at her rural home in Gakuuni Village, Chulo wision, Tharaka Nithi County.

There will be a fundraiser at Kenya Utalii College (Madaraka Hall) on Wednesday 26th February, 2020 at 4.00 pm.

Mother to Jedida Njeri Nyika, Susan Muthoni Kiguta, the late Dorcas Wanjira Ngumbao, Ann Wangechi Ngumba, Deborah Wanjiku Ngumba, John Wachira Ngumba, the late Leah Nyaguthii Kamau, Nancy Wairimu Nkuraiyia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lucy Wangari Ngumba. She was Mother-in-law of David Nyika, Austin Kiguta, the late Ngumbao, the late Kamau Wairi, Lucy Wachira, Frida Wachira, Peter Kamau and Ambassador Peter ole Nkuraiyia.

The cortege leaves Nanyuki Level 4 Hospital Mortuary tomorrow, Friday 21st February 2020 at 9.00am. She will be laid to rest at her home in Timau from 10.00am.

Grandchild of the late Mr. and Mrs Benedict Nzuve Maluku and the late Mr. and Mrs. Philemon Kioko. She was great grand child of the late Maluku Lumbu and Snr. Chief Patrisse Mulumba.

Tribute To Hon. Odhiambo Cyrus Omondi (Gearbox)

It is a sad moment for the people and the Government of Kiambu County following the loss of Hon. Odhiambo Cyrus Omondi who passed on while on official duty in Mumbai, India.

Until his demise, Hon. Omondi was the Member of County Assembly for Kahawa Wendani Ward in Ruiru Sub-County. Hon. Omondi was a dedicated, determined and a visionary Member of the County Assembly, who valued development and the wellbeing of the people of Kahawa Wendani and Kiambu County at large. Hon. Omondi was the Chairperson of the Education, Science and Research Committee in the County Assembly. He passionately advocated for quality education for Kiambu residents, particularly for the less privileged. He always lobbied for adequate allocation and efficient utilization of funds for bursary and education sponsorship by the County Government. He was a champion on matters of cohesion, integration and continuously urged leaders to embrace all people regardless of their tribe or status.

On behalf of the County Government and the great people of Kiambu, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends and residents of Kahawa Wendani Ward.

May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.
