It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Lucy Wambui Githehu which occurred on 8th May 2019 at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Daughter of the late Githehu Wa Miiri and the late Esther Wanjiku Muthiora. Mother of Henry Ngari Githehu and Mercy Nyambura Ndambuki. Sister of the late Peter Muthiora and the late Miri Githehu, Peter Gathungu Githehu of Nanyuki, Joseph Mbugua Githehu of Machakos, Elizabeth Njeri Githehu of Ndwaru road and the late Caroline Nyaruiru Githehu. Mother-in-law of Rose Wanjiru, Susan Kanana and Alex Ndambuki. Grandmother of Dwayne Githehu, Briana Wambui, Daylen Githehu, Skyla Njeri, Maxine Wambui, Jessica Mwikali and Emmanuel Mukumliu.

Family and friends are meeting at their home Ndwaru road and Muthiga Tulia Garden from 6:00pm daily.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta Hospital Mortuary private wing on Friday 17th May 2019 at 9:00am and thereafter funeral and burial ceremony will be held at Lang’ata Cemetery.

Father-in-law of Caroline Ngumo, Lisa Kariuki and Purity Kibanya. Son of the Late Mwalimu Denson Ngumo and the Late Marion Gachoki Ngumo of Kanjuri Sub-Location. Muthea Location, Magutu Division, Mathira East-Sub- County, Nyeri County.

Son-in-law of the late Dedan Kariuki and the late Rahel Gachoki Kariuki of Ngaini Village, Mathira West Sub-County, Nyeri County.

Brother of Charity Wangui Ngumo, Bernice Wamuyu Mureithi, Hellen Gathigia Murage, Alice Wachuka Macharia, Beth Nyathama, Dunstan Magu Ngumo, Irene Wakini Njeru, Phares karogo Ngumo, Lucy Ngima, the Late Mary Muthoni Munene, Eng. Wolleston Kamau Ngumo and the Late Hutchinson Gikandi.

Brother-in-law of the Late Samuel Ngunu, the Late Watson Mureithi, John Murage Wohoro, the Late Col (Rtd) David Macharia, Rosemary Wanja, the Late Col. Humphery Njeru, Judy Weveti Karogo, the Late Eric Juma, Munene Kabengi and Hannah Muthoni, Charity Kagure Kariuki, the Late Faith Muthoni Kariuki, the Late Cephas Wangai Kariuki, Joy Wangui Gatende, the Late Geoffrey Kimotho Gatende, the Late Solomon Ndambi Kariuki and Grace Wambui Kariuki.

Grandfather of-Nelson Ngumo, Joe Kariuki, Levy Kariuki, Jamie Kibanya and Vanessa Kibanya. Great-grandfather, an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Friends and relatives will be meeting at the Ngong Hills Hotel along Ngong Road, Nairobi on 15th May, at 5.30 pm.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 17th May, 2019 at 8.00 am for a funeral service to be held at the Karen Community Church near KCB Training Centre in Karen at 10.00 am followed by burial at the Langata Cemetery.

Friends and family members are meeting daily at his Nyamataro home to plan for the burial.

The main fundraising will be held on Sunday, 19/05/2019 at Nyamataro Market in Kisii town and at Zonic Hotel and Nairobi on Thursday 16/05/2019 at professional Centre along Parliament Road as from 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Hema Hospital Mortuary, Kisii, on 20/05/2019 for Miriri village for brief viewing before proceeding to his Nyamataro home behind Nyabururu Girls National School, in Kisii town.

Burial ceremony will be held on 21/05/2019 at Matoke SDA Church ground.

Brother of Njoki Kinothia, Waithera Mwangi, Kabura, Paul Kimani, Simeon Kariuki, Waithera from Mai Mahiu, the late Wanjiku Mwangi, Wacira Karanja and Joyce Njeri. He was married to Salome Wanjiku. His children were the late Agnes Magiri, Martin Karanja, (KaKim’s Hardware Loitoktok), Jeremiah Ng’ang’a (Jeres Beauty Shop, Limuru), Jesse Wacira, Geoffrey Ng’era (Ministry of Education), Esther Nyambura, Catherine Wanjiku (TSC), Milkah Gathoni (Britam), Miriam Gathoni (Ministry of Health), Susan Mumbi (Kamandura Primary School). He was a grand and great grandfather of many.

The hearse leaves Uplands funeral home on 17/5/19 at 10.00 a.m. The Church service is at Joshua Matenjwa church at 11.00. Later the burial ceremony at his home Limuru.

We are sad to announce the death of Esther Waigumo Mbuthia which occurred on 6th May in U.S.A.

Daughter of the late Wambugu Karoki and Beatrice Wangare. She hailed from Kagio-ini village, Kiria-ini sub location, Murang’a County. Wife of the late Paul Mbuthia Kareri and mother of Jacinta Wangui Kimotho, Lucy Wangare; the late Simon Peter Kareri, Francis Wambugu Mbuthia, Prof. Evans Murage Mbuthia (U.o.N), James Karoki Mbuthia, Elizabeth Wanjiru Mwale, Anne Mukami Ganness and Catherine Wambui Njuguna. Sister of the late Wambui Mwenja, Mukami Wambugu, Njoki Itambu and John Kihara. She was grandmother to thirty children and great grandmother of many children in both Kenya and USA. She was also aunty and in law to many.

Burial arrangements are going on at Abbey Hotel Nairobi and Airport View Estate House No.42 (Along Mbagathi Road), and her children’s homes at Ziwani Estate house No 82 and Kiukenda Estate (Kiambu).

Cousin of Wilkins Omondi, Jessy Mike Omondi, Mary Maya and Steph Akinyi. Nephew of Jacky Sundayu, Lydia Awino. Brother-in-law of Catherine Kaluhi.

Burial will take place on 18th May, 2019 at his home in Kibos – Kisumu.

The cortege will leave Sameday Classmate’s Funeral Palour Sega Mortuary on 17th May, 2019. There will be a Requiem Mass at St. Joseph Uwai C Parish at 2.00pm.

Burial will be on 18th May, 2019 at his Home Magombe Village Karadolo East sub-location in N.W. Ugenya Location.

Father of Josephat Kidinga, Maurice Liyai Amboga, Caroline Luvandwa, Lawrence Kasire, Eric Miding’a and Mercy Kageha and a guardian to Elphas Oyungi.

Father-in-law to Emmy Liyosi, Mary Katana, Eliud Jela, Yvonne Mengo, Jones Hagembee and Maximiller Anzirimi. Grandfather Loreen, Julia, Joshua, Arnold, Aron, Elizabeth, Ryan, Renee, Eli, Deborah, Samuel and Ruby.

The body will leave the Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on 16 May, 2019 at 10am for his rural home in Vihiga County.

The late Albert Amukono Amboga will be laid to rest on Saturday 18 May, 2019 at his home Givole Village in Vihiga County.

Peter and Regina Karumbi Keingatti, John and Grace Ngugi, Phillip and Antonina Gitau, James and Jacinta Karanja, Regina Wairimu, Simon and Edith Gathu, the late Raphael Karanga and Mary Karanga, Drs. Anna Nyokabi and Michael Nguithi Mugo, Lucy Wanjiru and Peter Kyeba, Elizabeth Njeri and Godfrey Kamotho. She was the sister of the late Gitau Karumbi, the late Njeri wa Ng’ang’a, the late John Ngugi Karumbi, among others. She was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was an aunt, an in-law and a friend to many.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Thursday 16th May 2019 at 7a.m. Requiem mass will be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Kiambu at 10 a.m followed by burial at her home in Kiambu town.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at 4 p.m at her home.
