Catherine Taka Mahaja

3-10-1958 – 30-09-2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lady Catherine Taka Mahaja (Cathe) on the 30th of September at Meridian Hospital from complications after being diagnosed with a heart condition a year ago.

Cathe was the 3rd born to the late Grado Mahaja and the late Getruda Akumu Mahaja. She was mother to Denis Ssebugwawo Mahaja, Geti Akura and Geraldine Habenga. Sister to the late Celestine, Josphine, John, Christopher, late George, late Albert, late James, late Mary Goretti and the late Ann Caroline. Mother in law to Clara, Zadock and Andrew. Grandmother to Ethan, Radley, Zia, Gerald, Alvin Er Cateline. She was also auntie, mzazi and grandmother to many more.

There will be a fundraising tomorrow; Saturday, 8th October at her house in Kaloleni -V15.

A requiem mass will be held on Thursday, 13th October from 2.30pm at Don Bosco Catholic Church – Upperhill.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday, 15th October in Budalangi, Sisenye Village, Busia.
