  • Nakuru North Cemetery

    The cemetery is located within Nakuru town. On entering Nakuru from the Nairobi direction, take the right turn indicated by the direction sign just before the railway bridge. This road curves around behind railway housing until it reaches the cemetery. Nakuru North Cemetery is open every day between 06:00 and 18:00.
    Most of the First World War burials in Nakuru North Cemetery date from November 1918 and were made from the convalescent camps at Nakuru.

    During the Second World War there was a Royal Air Force Flying Training School at Nakuru and various camps and establishments in and near the town. These included an OCTU at Njoro and another at Londiani. The cemetery now contains 27 Commonwealth burials of the First World War and 45 from the Second World War. The cemetery was later opened up to the public. Today, it is full. The Nakuru County Government has been towing with the idea of turning it into a recreational park.

    The county has been saying that the cemetery is one of the heritages of Nakuru town hence the need to mark it in a special way like the world war graves in Europe and elsewhere. The county has been planning to buy land in Bahati area for expansion of the full Nakuru North cemetery. However, most of the land has been subdivided into plots. To complicate the matter, most private developers are opposed to having a cemetery next to their investments.

  • Nakuru South Cemetery

    The cemetery is within Nakuru town. It lies only 10 meters from the sprawling Manyani slum.

  • Nakuru Hindu crematorium

    crematorium or crematory is a venue for the cremation of the dead. The Hindu crematorium in Nakuru borders the Nakuru North cemetery.

  • Gilgil Cemetery

    It is located approximately 5 km from Gilgil town centre. The cemetery is next to the expansive Site Estate. It also borders the Marura farm. The cemetery is next to the busy Nairobi, Nakuru Highway as you approach Gilgil town from Nairobi side. The town is about 25 kilometres from Naivasha and 48 kilometres from Nakuru. It takes about three hours to drive from Nairobi to Gilgil town.

  • Naivasha Cemetery

    The cemetery is located close to the District Hospital. It is a public cemetery managed by the county Government of Nakuru.  When traveling from Nairobi take the turning into Naivasha town. A short distance before the hospital entrance is a turning on the right, The road has market stalls on both sides. The cemetery is 100 metres on the right. The cemetery is however filled up and the county government of Nakuru has been trying to get alternative land for a new cemetery.

  • Longonot Cemetery

    This is a public cemetery managed by the county government of Nakuru. The Longonot cemetery has been receiving bodies from Naivasha town especially after the Naivasha cemetery got filled up. The Longonot cemetery is located next to a hospital and residential houses. The locals have been complaining demanding that it be well maintained including fencing it.

  • Molo Cemetery

    Molo is approximately 27 km from Nakuru town. Other places near Molo are Rongai and Eldama Ravine. Molo town is approximately 203.07 km from Nairobi.
