It is with profound sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Col. (Rtd) Dr. Daniel Musyoka Mbinda, MBS on Saturday 24th January, 2026. He served honourably with the Kenya Defense Forces for 31 years.
Daniel was son of the late Samson Mbinda Nguku and the late Anna Mutheu Mbinda.
He was beloved husband of Susan Meli Mbinda. Father of Kenneth & Monica Muoki, Kevin Mwendwa and Mbithe & Matthew Olsson. A doting grandfather of Jeff Jason and Jonathan Jabari.
Son-in-law of the late Serah & Mwenze Mutie & Grace Mwenze.
He was brother of Joyce & Kivuva, George & Anna, Julius & Margaret, Samuel-Jacinta & Susan, Philip Ngungi, Lois Manundu, Ruth & Munyovoo, Dorothy & Maingi, Bernard & Schola and the late Phyllis Mwende.
Brother-in-law of Mutuku, Esther, Kanini,Victoria, Mbithi, Monica, Nzavi, Mutie & Nthunya.
Syitawa of Jane & Rev. Kanja and Natalie & Fred Olsson.
Uncle of Mukami, Agnes, Musyoki, Mutheu, Kioko, Joel, Mbithi, Masila, Mwenze jr., Babu, Katanu, Kambua, Muuo, Mercy, Dennis, Nzisa among others.
Babu of many including: Queen Kendal and Isla Blue.
A mentor, a colleague and a beloved friend of many including: Prof. Mutiso, David Mutunga, and Dr. Gitau.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, 3rd February, 2026 at Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong Road at 10:00am.
The burial will take place on Thursday, 5th February, 2026 in Watuka Village,Wote, Makueni County.
