I; with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mama Colleta Naututu Makokha Makeni, which occurred on Wednesday, 7th June. 2023 while receiving treatment at the Prime Care Centre – KNH.

A cherished daughter to the late Francis Perry Makokha and the late Daria Ivayo Muteshi. Daughter-in-law to the late Clement Makeni, the late Marisela Muninzwa and Fransisca Awori.

Devoted wife to CPA Thomas Ndubi Makeni. Loving mother to Martin and Petronilla; Elizabeth and Timothy; Joseph; Edith and Davis; and John and Wangechi. Doting grandmother to Adrian, Nurieena, Allen, Anayah, Nandi and others.

Sister to Ursula, Angeline, Makuba, Sikuku, Melenia, Imelda, Dr. Brenda, Eng. Muteshi, and Alufwani.

Sister-in-law to the late Samson Wafula, Elizabeth, Emma, Rose, Joan, the late Levi Alegwa, the late Jimmy, Charles, Richard and Christine, Gladys, Evelyne, Rev. Sr. Pauline, Ben and Roselyne, Moses and Jacinta, Chris and Carol, and Wycliffe and Sylvia. Cousin and aunt to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting today at YWCA Headquarters, off Nyerere Road, from 5.00pm.

There will be a requiem mass at Don Bosco Church, Upper Hill on 14th June, 2023 at 2.00pm.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home, Nairobi on Thursday, 15thJune, 2023 for an overnight stay at her home in Akobwait Village, Teso South Sub-county in Busia County. The funeral and burial service will be held on Friday, 16th June, 2023.
