Colonel (Rtd.) Francis Njogu Kiiru Gitau

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Colonel (Rtd.) Francis Njogu Kiiru Gitau (formerly of Kenya Air Force) on Friday 14th October, 2022 at The Nairobi Hospital.

Son of the late Hosea Gitau and Cecilia Gitau, son-in-law of the late Josiah Kamau and the late Celina Nguhi Kamau all from Ngarariga, Limuru.

Loving husband of the late Lucy Wanjiru Kiiru. Loving father of Cecilia and Moses Juma, Susan Kiiru, Maryanne and Andrew Kamunyu, Maj. Jude Kiiru and Nancy Gitau, Michael Kiiru and Sheila Wanjiru. Loving grandfather to Renee, Keshon and Rawlings.

Brother to Joseph Waweru, Hannah Wanjiru, Wallace Gitau, Step Brother to the late Njogu Kiiru, Margaret Nyakio Mburu, Patrick Ngugi, Wallace Gachunga, Alice Wanjiru Waime and the late Jane Njoki.

Brother-in-law to Esther Wanjiku, Simon Njogu Kiiru Gitau Wanderi, Mary Warigia, the late Daniel Kamau and Veronica, Peter and the late Mary Njoroge, Isaac and Salome Njoka, Peter and Alice Mwithukia, James and Alice Warui, Patrick and Magdalene Kinyenje,William and Jennifer Kuria, Jenifer and John Kibe, Gladys Nyokabi, the late George Juma and Eunice Juma, Moses and Beatrice Gitau, Joel and Adah Mwaniki.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral home on Friday 21st October 2022 at 8:30am for the funeral service at Consolata Shrine Westlands at 10:00 am followed by burial at their Kagondo Farm in Kinoo.

Family and friends are meeting at Public Service Club in Upperhill from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th October 2022 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
