Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of his saints.— Psalm 116:15
I had the privilege of teaching Elly at Kisii School and being a friend of this talented young man until I left Kenya in 1970 and thereafter at a geographical distance. I followed his career with interest and was proud to witness his progression in life and at work. I spent also a few days with him when he was awarded a scholarship to study for an MBA at Leeds University from 1984 to 1985.
He was indeed fortunate to have such a devoted wife as Sabina who, although I did not see him in his later years, would have tended and looked after Elly after he became tragically totally blind.
He took to his beloved soccer the same skills as he did to his studies and professional work.
Even until his death we talked regularly and I was always pleased to keep abreast of his wider family even though I was never able to meet what I know would have been a loving and caring family.
RIP dear friend.
