Cornelia Wanjiru Matteo

We the family of the late Cornelia Wanjiru Matteo wish to convey our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Almighty God, relatives, friends, in-laws (Gaturi, Ngong, Saba Saba, Kiunjugi, Matuu and Marua), colleagues and well-wishers for the love, support and encouragement during the illness and subsequent transition to eternal life of our beloved mum Cornelia. No words can adequately express our gratitude for the overwhelming support each of you gave us, through prayers, visits, telephone calls, text messages, generous financial and material contributions that you accorded to us during this very difficult time. Our gratitude goes to the parish priests, clergy, faithful and Jumuiya (SCC) at Shrine of Mary, Don Bosco Church Upperhill, St. Kizito Umoja Catholic Church, St Peter Claver Kongu-ini Catholic Church, Mwea Catholic Church, Kanguru Catholic Church and Gatura Catholic Parish. We note also the dedication and support of the parish priest, clergy and faithful at Tetu Catholic Parish, especially the Catholic Women Association (CWA), Catholic Action (CA) membership and St.Agatha Small Christian Community.

In this regard we recognize the Assumption Sisters and Matteo of Nairobi (ASN) Nairobi Home, Karibaribi & Jamaica together with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes led by Sr. Agnes Wanjiku together with the Friends of Assumption Sisters of Nairobi (FASN).

Special thanks go to The Board of Directors, management, staff and customers of Equity Group Holdings and subsidiaries under the stewardship of Dr James Mwangi for the tireless and immense support accorded to us in various ways. Similarly we acknowledge the contributions of The Wood Foundation Africa management and staff in Tanzania, Scotland, Kenya and Rwanda as well as Tea Board of Tanzania, Tea Research Tanzania, Tanzania Smallholder Agency, Mufindi Tea and Coffee Office Tanzania, and Aids Health Foundation (AHF). Friends in KTDA tea factories lriaini (Othaya) and Njunu (Thika), Kenya Power Contractors, staff and friends in Nakuru, in addition to Kiamuri Primary School staff, PUSH women group and the Seven Sisters from Gaturi, Murang’a and Munungaini – Nairobi Welfare Group, Kambweze, Kambwema, Kongu-ini Ladies Group Murang’a, NOSC, ITOA and NYERWA.

Special mention goes to Ladies ofVision and Class of 90 (MV 90) lawyers and legal fraternity for the immense support.The organizing committees sitting in Nairobi, Murang’a and Tetu together with the security teams at Nairobi, Nyeri and Tetu, we recognize your support and detailed arrangements.

Our appreciation also extends to the medical and nursing staff at the Nairobi Hospital ICU and Aga Khan University Hospital. We would like to specifically thank Dr Munene Irimu and Dr Philip Kisyoka for the medical care and attention extended to our mum until her demise. Staff at Prime Physiotherapy and the caregivers who assisted mum in various ways during her illness, please accept our appreciation. Since it is not possible to reach each and every one of you in person, kindly accept this as an expression of gratitude for your valuable support by being there for us during our hour of grief and ensuring we gave mum a befitting farewell to eternal life.

Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace, Amen.
