Damiano Manyura Omwenga

The family of Mzee Damiano Manyura Omwenga of Nyabungututu village announce his death that occurred on 30th August, 2023, at 90 years old.

He was husband of Angelica Nyamusi Manyura. He was the father of the late Leonard Matundura, Gilbert Ongaki and Kwamboka Oyaro. He was the foster father of Daniel Omwenga, Dennis Matundura, Peter Nyachoti, Rebecca Nyaboke and Tom Oenga. Father-in-law of Alice Kerubo, Everline Nyaboke, the late Dr Edwin Oyaro, Lilian Munini and Sarah Tom.

Brother of the late Paul Motabori, Nicas Obwagi, the late Isabella Kwamboka, the late Mogwasi, the late Mbacha, Dorothea, the late Nyamwega, Juliana and the late Protas.

He was son-in-law of the late Stanislausngaki Machini and the late Paustine Nyabate of Bomobea. He was brother-in-law of Gesare, Kwamboka, Nyanduko (all late), Patricia and the late Monyangi, Helena, Agnes, Alice, Ongati, Anasi and Gichana.

Korera of the late William and Truphena Ombati, Francis and Teresa Ontonga, the late Chrisantus and Pacifica Ondieki, Julius and Teresia, the late Nelson and Alice Machoka, and Tom and Gladys Mogere. Nephew of Moraa, Nyakerario, Biticha and Nyantaeti.

He was Omoigwa of Mang’oina. Cousin of Nyangeri, Matthias, Torori,Mekenye,Bikeri,Anderea,Ratemo (all late) and Nikola. Semo of the late Nyambane, the late Otwori, Mose, Mwancha and Onyinkwa.

Uncle of John, Margaret, Okenye and Kwamboka, Teresia, the Omwengas, Motaboris and Pauls, the late Major Sam Nyambane and Paul Oyori, among others.

Grandfather of Judy, Paul, Papa, Jannefer, Christine, Jackline, Rael Nyabate, Rebecca Nyagogwa, Rahab, Rehema, Aroha, Zawadi, Baraka, Manyura, Nehema and Nathaniel. Great grandfather of David, Faith, Emmanuel, Joshua, Natasha, Liam and Darlian.

The cortege leaves Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary tomorrow for a Requiem Mass at the Nyabururu Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest on Friday 8/9/2023 at his Nyabururu home after the funeral service at the Nyabururu Church grounds.
