David Gichohi Waihiga

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of the Lord’s will that we announce the demise of David Gichohi Waihiga formerly Senior Deputy Director of Education, Ministry of Education which occured on 31anuary, 2023, at ICU after an illness bravely borne.

Son of Serah Wangui Waihiga and the late Mzee Daniel Waihiga Gichohi of Kihome Village, Othaya Sub-County. Devoted husband to Rose Karimi Gichohi.

Father to Elizabeth Gichohi and Brian Waihiga Gichohi. Father-in-law to Annette Mumbi Waihiga. Grandfather to Gichohi Waihiga (Gicu).

Brother to Wanjiru, Wanjiku, Mwangi, Muthoni, Njeri, Wairima, Njoki, Kahaki, the late Wambui and the late Warika. Brother-in-law, uncle, grandfather and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his residence, Kugeria North Crescent, off Kiambu Road from 5:00pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home (bypass) on Tuesday, 10th January 2023 at 7:00am. Funeral service will be at PCEA Kihome Church, Othaya and interment at his family home in Kihome village on the same day.
