Dr Anselmy Onyango Opiyo
It is with humble acceptance to the will of our Lord that we announce the departure from this earthly plane of Dr Anselmy Onyango Opiyo on Sunday morning, 17th July, 2022 at MP Shah Hospital, Nairobi.
The Late Dr Opiyo was a senior Radiation Oncologist and former Head of The Cancer Treatment Centre, Kenyatta National Hospital, and Chief consultant and Head of the Cancer Treatment Centre at the Coast General hospital. He was also a senior Radiation Oncologist at the Nairobi Hospital.
A Loving Husband to Anita Onyango (Agnetta) of ANC.L Doting Father to Dr. Joseph Ochieng Onyango (Melbourne University) and Eng. Madeleine Akinyi Onyango (3D Solutions, Australia).
Son to the late Mzee John Opiyo and the late Mama Magdalene Akello and Son-in-law to the late Mr. Nelson Mukara Sakwa and the late Mwalimu Florence Sakwa of Emutete Emusenjeli Village.
Brother to the late Fredrick Ochieng, the late Hilda Atieno, Augusta Akinyi, Emanuel Otieno & Margaret Gachina, the late Margaret Nyakasenya, Mary Anyango & Elisha Awonda, Agustine Omuya &Veronica Masawe, Olive Okolla & Bernard Otieno, Thomas Oketch & Betty Omollo, Lini Okolla & Ali Bakari.
Brother-in-law to Modern Ibrahim, Dr. Lucy Luta, Matilda Sakwa (DG NYS), Oceanic Saisi, James Sakwa, Gerald Sakwa, Samuel Sakwa and Sally Sakwa.
Beloved Cousin to the Halonda’s, the Ochieng’s, the Okello’s, the Ongor’s, the Mugwanga’s, the Rajula’s, the Apondi’s, the Oluoch’s and the Ger’s. Uncle and Friend to many.
Family and friends are meeting everyday at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 5.00pm for funeral arrangements and fundraising.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Don Bosco Catholic Church – UpperHill on Thursday 2Ist July 2022 at 10.00am.
The cortege will depart from Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday 22nd July 2022 for burial at the Family Home in Kaugagi, Alego Siaya County on 23rd July, 2022.
