Dr. Atieno Ouko Onyonyi (PhD)
We are sad to announce the passing of Dr. Atieno Ouko Onyonyi (PhD), Acting Country Director – Plan International – Kenya, that occurred on Tuesday the 6th December, 2022 in Nairobi.
Wife to Leonard Onyonyi (East African Community Secretariat, Arusha). Mother to Andrew Onyonyi (Seattle USA).
Sister to Phyllis Ouko (Office Ministry of Interior and Coordination National Government), Caroline Ouko, Josephine Ouko (County Commissioner, Kisumu), Steve Ouko (UK) and Austin Ouko (KENGEN). Daughter to John and Patricia Ouko of Kisumu.
Daughter-in-law to Mathew and Lorna Onyonyi of Wakula, Mfangano Island. Sister-in-law to Roseline, Kennedy, Vincent, Kasujaa, Tom, Isaac, Leon, Abel, Oscar,Willis, Fidel and Lynette.
Auntie to Diana, Amy, Victor, Arnold, Effie, Lorna, Ojo, Kyle, Christian, Mitch, Ivan, ja’Nam, ja’Kogolla, Lilian, and Irene.
Family and Friends are meeting daily at CITAM -Valley Road at the Mc Bride Hall, from 5.00pm to 8.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.
A memorial service will be held on December 14, 2022, at CITAM Valley Road from 1.00 p.m.
The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Burial service will be held on Friday December 16, 2022 at her home in Nyikendo area, past Magina SDA Church in Migori County from 10.00 a.m. We warmly welcome family, friends and relatives to escort Dr. Atieno on her final journey.

It was indeed shocking to learn of her sudden passing on…..We used to call her AOO, using her initials, such industrious lady. May the almighty God give courage and console the family at this time!
