Dr. Caroline Wanjiru

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Dr. Caroline Wanjiru of Gazi village, Kwale County which occurred on 30th December 2022. Until her death, Dr. Wanjiru was a Lecturer at Kenyatta University’s, School of Pure and Applied Sciences in Mombasa.

Loving wife to Dr. James Gitundu Kairo of KMFRI, Mombasa. Doting mum to Alex Gitundu (UoN), Lulu Wanjiku (UoN), Almasi Wachira (Pioneer School) and Kelli-June Wangui (Mekaela Academy).

She is the daughter of the late Eunice Wangui and daughter-in-law to Naftali Kairo Gitundu and Miriam Wanjiru Kairo.

Sister to Catherine Wairimu of Mara Plains Camp, Kevin Njuguna of Kasarani Mwiki, and Charles Muteithia of Syngenta Foundation.

Sister-in-law to Samuel Mwaura, Grace Njeri, Caroline Wairimu, Lydia Njeri, Zipporah Njambi, Sammy Karanja, the late Peter Kiaritha, Barnabas Kimari, Isaac Wangenye, Rebecca Wanjiku, the late Joseph Macharia, Stanley Chege, Ann Njeri, Paul Thuo, Rosemary Wairimu, aunty, and friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her residence in Gazi village, as well as in Turasha, North Kinangop in Nyandarua County for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Jamani Funeral Home, Naivasha on Friday, 6th January 2023 at 9:00am for a funeral service at Harambee Social Hall at 11:00 am, thereafter the burial will be at the family farm near Turasha market.
