It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Fred Obwocha Ombati of Baltimore USA (formerly of Kenyatta University class of 1988 and later Lecturer in the Department of Social Foundations of Education).

He was the beloved husband of Veronica Kemunto, formerly of KCB Kisumu and the doting father of Shaleen Nyaboke Ombati of Kenyatta University.

He was Son to the late Stanely Ombati Obegi and Periah Obonyo Ombati and step-son to Naomi Nyatichi Ombati. He was brother to the late Washington Obegi (WOE), Dorcas Gichora, Mokaya, Karen (USA), Mokua, Leakey, Josephine, Ombogo, Rebecca, Webstar,Tom, Nyanchama, and Orina.

He was a son-in-law to the late Francis and the late Ebisiba Kerina of Nyantaro. A brother-in-law to the late Samuel, Elizabeth, Linet, Jackson, Jackline, Eunice, the late Gichora, Nyanchama, Bosire, Anthony, Jane, Ruth and Stella among others.

He was a cousin to Nyanchamas, Kingoinas, Ongwenyis, Marokos, Obares, Obegis, Ndeges, Barongos, Monyangis, Moraas, Nyangachas, Makoris, Omois, Mainas, Maseses, Nyariekos, Onkobas, and Nyambegeras among others.

He was an uncle to WOFs, Dorcas, Mokayas, Ombogos, Rebeccas, Mokuas, Leakys, Josephi nes,Toms, Nyanchamas, Orinas, Changes, Marangas and Kengeles among others.

Dr. Fred’s body leaves Maryland, USA on November 22nd, and arrives in Kenya on November 23rd. There will be a Funeral Church Service at Maxwell SDA Church, Nairobi, on November 24th from 0930am and thereafter the cortege leaves for his home in Nyamira County. He will be laid to rest at his home in lsoge, on Friday 25th November 2022.
