It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Dr. George Owuor Matete Ph.D. former Country Director, BRAC Uganda which occurred on the 16th June, 2022.

Son of the late Philip Achieng’ Matete and the late Christine Adhiambo Matete of Kano Kobura, Ong’eche Village. Step-son to Esther Monday Achieng’. Loving husband to Ruth Ayall Matete. Father to Rushmi Christine Matete, Clara Aduda Owuor, Loice Akinyi Matete and Nigel Ombima. Son-in-law to the late Justo Ayal and Loice Ayal of Seme Kombija.

Brother to the late Jacktone Victor, Robert Matete, James Matete, Paul Matete, Harold Mumbo, Denis Chute, Naaman William, Maryanne Matete and Judith Matete. Brother-in-law to Bonventure Lumula, Caroline Dede, Mildred Lirango, Meyo Ayal, the late Florence Okok, Dr. Emily Ogutu, the late Dr. Charles Ogweno, Matthew Ayal, Eric Ayal, the late Gad Ayal, and Moline Ayal,Wycliffe Ogutu, Christine eyo, Betty Ayal, Lillian Ayal and many others.

Nephew to Dr. Francis Oriwa Matete, Edward Mayoga the late Cathy Midodo, Calvin Matete, the late Benson Sinoga and many others.

Cousin to Sheila Matete, Nick Matete, Jesse Matete, the Osanga’s, the Ang’awas’, the Dondes’, the Hesbons’, the Barracks and many others. Uncle friend to many.

There will be a fund raiser on Wednesday, 29th June, 2022 at AIC Milimani – Nairobi from 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home on 30th June, 2022 for a requiem service at the All Saints Cathedral – Nairobi, from 2.00pm.

Prayers and final burial rites will take place on Saturday, 2nd July 2022 from 8.00am at his Kisumu, Kanyakwar home.

All things were created by him, and for him, And he is before all things, and by him all things hold together.
