It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Jackson Wafula Songa of Moi University, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, on Wednesday 16-8-2017 at Eldoret Hospital.

Husband of Dr Emily Mwaliko of Moi University (School of Medicine). Son of late Mzee Harry Songa and Mama Truphena Nelima Songa of Bukura, South Butsotso Location. Kakamega County. Father of Timothy David Mwaliko, lscah Nelima and Keith Michael Songa. Brother of the late James Songa, Abigael Wakhu, Frank Songa UN, the late Dan Songa, Dr. Wilson Songa (former PS), Joan Apili Wawire of USA, the late Ernest Songa, Stanley Songa and Martin Songa. Brother-in-law of Elizabeth Songa, David Wakhu and the Wakhus, the late Margaret Songa, Merab Songa, Dr. Josephine Songa, Dr. Carolyne Songa, the late Hon. Apili Wawire, Nancy Njeri Songa, the Mwalikos, John Etemesi (Former PC), the late Johnston Shivachi, the Shivachis and others. Son-in-law of the late Mzee Edward Mwaliko and Mama Doreen Wanjala of Taita Taveta County. Uncle of Pamela Songa, Capt Joseph and Andrew Songa, Rispa Kibunja, Solomon Wakhu, Sheila Songa (Uganda), James and Caroline Yuko, Michelle and Alice Songa, the late Dr. Eunice Sachereno, Eugine, Paul, Peter, Ken, Bela & Joy Apili Wawire-USA, Kimanis and Elvis Mwangi Songa, William and Duncan Litunya, Barvin, Ray, Neon and the Etemesi’s among others. Family, friends and others are meeting daily at his Eldoret Elgon view residence and Frank Songa’s Milimani residence, Kakamega.

The cortege leaves Moi teaching and referral Hospital on 24th August, 2017 at 2:00 p.m for a church service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses Off Uganda road behind Lochab Eldoret.

The cortege leaves his Elgon view home in Eldoret on 25/8/2017 morning for Bukura. A church service will be held at the family home starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial service will be held on 26/8/2017 starting at 9:00a.m.
